Re: Audacity Won't Launch/Open
It seems with multiple programs I open, audio vanishes from my computer even after closing, which is most likely something messed up within my computer not Audacity itself. Try going back to a system restore point where everything worked or back up your data and reinstall Windows. You could rather ...

Re: How can I delay my microphone even more (few seconds)?
Just found program called Radio Delay ,works perfect. Thanks for posting a solution which I assume to be http://www.daansystems.com/radiodelay/ . According to their tutorial you hear the original in the output as well as the delayed version if playback of the input is unmuted (on Windows Vista, Win...

Re: [Q]Audacity Crashing
We can't say because you have given us no information to go on - when is it crashing ? What version of OS X? Is it crashing on launch? If so it could be due to plug-ins on your system - see here for what you can do: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/User:BillWharrie/Resetting_Preferences_on_Mac . If...

I have NVDA 2012v3. I just INSERT + B in Edit Labels to hear the text about F2 then press INSERT again to stop it talking.

Re: How can I delay my microphone even more (few seconds)?
I don't want to record with it and then play, but just to say a word or a sentence and listen to it straight away,in order to reduce my foreign accent.Would be perfect if I can change the time of delay. PS. I have Compaq laptop(Windows 7, 64bits) with in built mic,but going to buy better mic. You ca...

Re: I suddenly lost the ability to record??
Were you using another USB cable on your friend's computer? A loose or bad cable can often be the problem.
For further debugging, see if you can record using Windows Sound Recorder (search for that by clicking the Windows globe bottom left).

Re: Audio/Video Transcription Software
(Why didn't I simply try the F2 key, maybe to much pessimism). Is that anywhere written? In the help I've found only the following: You can use the Arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate easily left, right, up or down between the table cells. Opening the Start Time or End Time cell for editing lets...

If 2.0.2 does not work, please specify in what way it does not work. We cannot see your systems, so need you to describe what happens so we can try to help you.guitarist321 wrote: (Again, 2.0 version did not work on my pc which is why I installed the older beta one. )

Re: 'static'-like noise generated in audacity
Try turning off Transport > Software Playthrough in Audacity if you are using it.
Try selecting the (hw) device for input instead of pulse. This gives direct access to the hardware.
Open the Recording Preferences in Audacity and try increasing "audio to buffer".
