Re: Scanning VST Plug-ins (pop-up window)
I have been using the old beta version for about a year and I just uninstalled it, and installed the curent version today 1/14/2013. Everytime I click on the Audacity icon to initiate the program, I get a pop-up window with a title 'Scanning VST Plug-ins' and it scans for about 10 seconds before th...

Re: Installation Problem!
Please note, we do not make either Tape2MP3 or the "CassetteMate" software that comes with it. The display and other issues with the CassetteMate software are described on the Tape-to-MP3 site: http://fourcorners.com/t2mp3.html . If you wish, you can record from Tape2MP3 using Audacity ins...

Re: VST Effect Question
Audacity is still a 32-bit program. It runs fine on 64-bit Windows but will not "see" 64-bit DLL's. The DLL's must be 32-bit (these may be in another folder that has the same effect names as the 64-bit folder). Audacity also will not see VST instruments, synths or effects that are intended...

Re: Can't Open Audacity
By restoring, do you mean restoring windows? Because it's not windows that crashes, it's just audacity. Windows System Restore http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_Restore not reinstalling Windows. This sets the computer's program and driver files (but not your text and music files) back to a previo...

Re: Can't Open File
Please attach the AUP file (see http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 for how to do that). The AUP file is only a text file referencing the actual audio data in the project _data folder (that folder has the same name as the AUP file). The _data folder probably is 2 GB or so. G...

Re: Translating Audacity on Transifex or similar
Yes, we can continue with the current "diasporic" system, but then we will not use the full potential of Transifex as a project management tool, saving time and making everyone's work easier. Given some translators are against or neutral, that only leaves possible benefits to Audacity Tea...

Re: Translating Audacity on Transifex or similar
Maybe there should be a direct question on the mailing list: does anyone oppose Transifex? No response can still imply opposition rather than just apathy. No-one is stopping you posting on the mailing list and making your points above about the benefits to translators. Do people on Audacity Team ev...
