Re: distortion on Audacity>MP3

Will GVerb work with Audacity or MP3? GVerb is included with Audacity. It is not the easiest or most full-featured reverb but it does "work" or we wouldn't include it. Once again, MP3 is lossy. By definition, reverb produces a much less "clean" sound. Only you can decide if MP3 ...

Re: SoX Quality Settings (Inc Phase)

It was not clear before that the time tracks used a lower quality than those selected in preferences. I assumed that 'real time' in preferences also referred to the 'time track' (as it is in real time) We do note the position in the Manual http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/quality_preferences.ht...

Effect > GVerb (underneath the divider in the Effect Menu). But read this first http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=GVerb .

Re: No tresponding

A bang isn't a standard character. Koz Koz, Audacity 2.0.x is a Unicode program. ;) The exclamation mark in the project name is not the problem, I think. The first tag name <tag name="id3v2" value="0"/> suggests the tag is id3v1. I don't see why that is a problem. But you can tr...

Re: Error saving Project

Obviously, your computer hates "e." No, I think this is the known Audacity weirdness that it cannot save XML project data from time to time, but can still export WAV files to the exact same location. If it happens again, aradlaw, could you possibly attach the AUP file or the autosave file...

Re: Separating tracks on the fly

Audacity should have a way to create track separators on the fly, while listening the LP. I'm not too clear about the difference between such a thing and CTRL + M and ENTER (which creates an empty label). Is the difference that you want a button to do this? Audacity labels are listed at Tracks > Ed...

Re: Question about controlling input volume through Windows

Just installed Audacity 2.0.3 on XP Home, Service Pack 3. See the attached images for the volume adjustments I'm able to make. Under Volume Control, the Input Monitor option is grayed out. Is that normal? It's stuck around the 80% level, which seems kind of arbitrary. (It's still grayed out even if...

Re: batch generating silence

Be aware you will degrade the MP3's by re-encoding them. If you still want to do it, you could try "TrimExtend" ( http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=193132#p193132 ). See here for installing Nyquist plug-ins http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins#install . T...

Re: SoX Quality Settings (Inc Phase)

So you are saying that the real-time and normal re-sampling at highest quality use the exact same settings? For other than Time Tracks, you get the quality you choose in Quality Preferences. If you choose "Best Quality" for both real-time and "normal" (which is used for processi...
