Re: Question about controlling input volume through Windows
I still hear sound when recording (without enabling Transport > Software Playthrough in Audacity). Perhaps this is because the input monitor in Windows is not zeroed (despite being muted) . I'm pretty sure my drivers are correct, but I'm not an expert. You could check the link I gave if you have no...

Re: Help Across all 2x versions, May be Sound Related
You can do a reset of Audacity by checking (putting a tick mark in) the "Reset Preferences" box when you install Audacity. Read here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#reset . You will need to quit Audacity then in the installer, press "Next" ...

Re: Error saving Project
If it happens again, aradlaw, could you possibly attach the AUP file or the autosave file? I've never seen anything in the file that explains the problem, but you never know. Gale By the AUP file do you mean just the aup file, and not the data folder (which runs 200+MB) ? I'm not that familiar with...

Re: Please assist with the very BASICS
Just to add that Audacity cannot record audio from web cams that have combined video and audio streams. Audacity will only recognise a web cam that has a separate audio stream. Audacity has to be restarted (or Transport > Rescan Audio Devices used) if you connect a USB cam after launching Audacity. ...

Re: Separating tracks on the fly
I made a solution, where one button adds consecutive positions on the fly to a wxChoice, and a second button which per stroke, converts any two consecutive points stored in the wxChoice into one visible selection and then proceeds to the following pair. By doing so, you circle around through the se...

Re: Expanded Preferences For SoX Resampling
I've made a note of the request for a phase preference, but there is only one libsoxr variable rate (Time Track) quality at the moment, so nothing to choose from.

Re: Windows 64 bit
Your complaints are to do with not being used to Windows 7, and not to do with Audacity. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Windows_7_OS#Recording_and_playback for more. Koz answered you about Windows 7 sound "enhancements". There is no "silent" recording of computer playback ...

Re: Separating tracks on the fly
Audacity should have a way to create track separators on the fly, while listening the LP. I'm not too clear about the difference between such a thing and CTRL + M and ENTER (which creates an empty label)... Not on my PCs it doesn't: Ctrl+M certainly creates an empty label at the current playback/re...

Re: Clipboard (cmd+x) corrupted when pasting into new sessio
If you look at File > Check Dependencies in the project that has the pasted audio, the dependency is still on the original file name, not the renamed -old1 file that has the original audio. To avoid the issue, the we would have to change the dependency to the -old1 file after overwriting the origina...

Re: Clipboard (cmd+x) corrupted when pasting into new sessio
Thanks for the report. I searched the forums and couldn't find an instance such as mine. And sorry if this post appears twice. I thought I'd posted it successfully the first time, but apparently I didn't. So here's the second attempt... System details: MacBook Pro mid-2009 (OSX 10.7.5), SSD for syst...
