Re: recording stops after a few second
Thanks for the hint. The recording device was set to pulse:line 0. Changed to default:line 0 and the recording now runs correctly. Great! "Default" should normally map to pulse too, so it may not be a permanent solution. The entry that says (hw) should definitely bypass pulse. For the rec...

Re: New Audacity vst scan feature
Why does the new Audacity vst scan only recognizes .dll files in the audacity plug-Ins folder when my other version would recognize all my .dll files in other folders as well?? Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (all three numbers, see the pink panel at the top of the page). See ...

Re: Why can't I open my audacity file?
Where text below is in blue, click it to read more. See Find out which version of Windows 8 you are running . Open the AUP file you saved, not the small files that look like e000091. If the project you want is no longer in Recent Files, use File > Open... top left of Audacity. In the window that app...

Re: Clicking Noises in Recording.
I changed the bit rate and quality and nothing helped out. I still hear clicks on 3-7 seconds. BTW I'm running Audcity on my SSD so I should not be having any writing issue as suggested in the forum. I don't have any programs running but Audactiy and I still get them. I reastart my computer every d...

Re: How to Notch above 10,000MH
Note that in current Audacity (2.1.2) the plugin input is validated according to the parameter boundaries set in the plugin. Center frequencies above 10000 Hz will thus be rejected, and you would have to use a text editor to modify the line starting with ;control freq "Center Frequency" to...

Re: Could Now Write to File: Error Flushing File
Make sure you are using the current Audacity 2.1.2 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows . This version is much less likely to produce an error saving the AUTOSAVE file. If you still have Audacity open and showing the recorded waveform, try File > Export Audio... as WAV. If you closed Au...

Re: output sound volume
Does rebooting the Mac enable the headphones to work at full volume again, at least for a while?

Re: Cannot burn Audacity files with Windows Media Player
during the course of my problem, Audacity began to run very slowly, so I uninstalled it and re-downloaded from your site. I've done this before with no problem, but this time I keep getting an older version, not 2.1.2 (I think it's 2.0.5; right now I'm not on my home computer). It looks different, ...

Re: Defining events/cues at certain timepoints via kb shortc
Sorry, I wasn't clear enough in my description. I would actually like these labels to be added in real-time, upon simply pressing the shortcut key, without the need to type into the label text field. Can a macro achieve that? Many thanks! As I said, Audacity cannot do that, but a macro program coul...
