Re: A huge thank you
I am French (and work in software development)... I won't be able to for a few months since I 'm gonna keep being very busy for that time, but I then I'll be really glad to work on improving the software, deelopping it. Thanks! We are glad of help from anyone experienced in wxWidgets and C++ (or ab...

Re: Click track with mogg
Can you explain more what you are trying to do. Are you trying to mix a click track with the files?
Is the problem that the files are not at a constant BPM? Are they getting faster or slower gradually?

Re: Weird random distortion
USB devices (especially USB turntables) don't usually offer enhancements and filters in the sound control panel. Try changing or tightening the USB cable, and connect to an empty USB port. See here http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_t ... hite_Noise .

Re: PC volume balance gets reset
If you can, can you right-click in Explorer over the 2.0.3 (and/or 2.0.2) audacity.exe and over the "revert r12160.exe", then choose Properties, then the "Compatibility" tab. Are any of those EXE's running in Compatibility Mode, if so for what operating system? Neither 2.0.3. no...

Re: System sound crashes on Audacity start
Thanks for your helpful observations, nkent. We do have a couple of Linux developers :) but this is still "short" given the small amount of spare time they have. I note your suggestions for "Sound Activated Recording". Another possible solution might be to start a Timer Recording...

Re: all my sound crashes when I export a wav file
I had sound up to the moment of exporting the wav file. Do you know that, for example you played a file in Windows Media Player before export, you could hear it, then you exported and you then could not hear Windows Media Player? I suggest you unplug the turntable and read the link provided as to w...

Re: System sound crashes on Audacity start
@moenchmeyer, there is no imminent solution, because the problem is not widespread and we are short of Linux developers. In addition, I see from looking at the Forum that there are many reports of Creative cards working well on Ubuntu with Audacity 1.3.13 or later. As per your comments, it could be ...

Re: System sound crashes on Audacity start
Hi! So will there be some update? The problem is specific to certain sound cards, I believe. No-one on Audacity Team has this problem on Linux. Audacity should not change system sound settings but Skype is a law unto itself. Now - audacity is starting as huge application like Aftereffects...it long...

Re: Recording with Stereo Mix not working?
So how were you muting the speakers? Do you mean they are external speakers with a mute control? Stereo mix can only record if there is loud enough sound playing on the sound card. The different Windows 7 versions don't affect basic sound playback or recording, but you may not have the correct audio...

Re: wav files connot be handled by CD burining apps
Look at the "Save as type" when you export. Set it to "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM" then the files will be 16-bit. Unless you have a lot of silence or near silence in your files there is no reason to export 32-bit float WAV for CD burning. It just takes up disc space and sl...
