Re: lame error
Very few versions of lame_enc.dll have sufficient symbols compiled in, which can lead to incorrect file length reporting or other problems. For this reason we suggest you use the version of lame_enc.dll recommended in our FAQ: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#l...

Re: Windows 64 bit
There is no "silent" recording of computer playback on Windows Vista and later because there is now no "Speaker" or "Master" system volume slider independent of the "wave" output slider. The Master output slider is the one you could turn down on XP without af...

Re: Personalisations
The way you show it resetting is how it would be by default on a wide monitor with a fresh installation on a machine that never had Audacity before. I don't have a wide enough monitor to set up your layout in the first image, but I suggest you reset preferences as described here then try to apply yo...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
@TimViper, please check if this is a Windows or motherboard sound card problem. Make stereo mix default in "Sound" then click the Windows globe and type "sound recorder" (without quotes) in the search box. Do Sound Recorder recordings have the same issue? Check you have correct d...

If you mean the Toolbars ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/to ... rview.html ) they should stop put if you float them out of their docked position. This assumes you are using the current Audacity 2.0.3 from http://audacityteam.org/download/ .

Re: Generate tones and silences at specific seconds
The best idea I have is to turn the data into a label track ( http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w/index.php?title=Labels_Tips#impex ) then import the label track. You can click in each label and generate a tone at each label. Depending what you want to do you can make the label a region then the generato...
