Re: Audacity exports at higher bitrate than desired

I am using Audacity 2.0.3 (I think. the about box still says 1.3.14 beta even though i've double checked that I downloaded 2.0.3). . I suggest you quit 1.3.14 then uninstall it. I am trying to edit some of the wav files for the game Half-Life. Windows reports these wav files as being at bit rate 88...

Re: Set up

Connect the Capture Device to your computer first then start Audacity.

If you connected the device after starting Audacity, quit Audacity and restart it.

Re: Sending audacity files over Skype

Exactly what type of file were you given? How did he send the file via Skype? Select the file in Explorer, right-click > Properties. If you recorded Skype in Audacity and have been given an AUP Audacity project file, your friend needs to give you the _data folder for the project as well, which may b...

Re: Adjust endpoints during playback?

So you're saying that I'm not just incredibly dense, and the reason I can't figure out how to do it is that there isn't any way to do it yet? Correct. Do I have to take some sort of additional action to turn this conversation into an "official" feature request? No, your vote will be count...

Re: Can't Open File

I can confirm the project won't open in latest Audacity on Windows 7 with the full and "reduced tracks" (doctored) AUP files I last posted.

I'll look into it some more, others are welcome to do so.

Re: Sliding Time/Scale Pitch result sounds strange (SOLVED)

Sorry, my mistake. Almost all built-in effects that have an interface have Preview, but not Sliding Time Scale.

There is a patch to add a Preview button, but the patch seems incorrect.

Re: Sliding Time/Scale Pitch result sounds strange (SOLVED)

I'll ask Clayton to drop by and see if he has any input. If you have a debug build it may be possible to use the gdb debugger and trace what happens when you use Time Scale on the affected machine and if it is different on the non-affected machine. I am not an expert on that so Clayton would better ...

Re: MAC OS Lion - build errors: config.h: No such file

I will try 2.0.3. My concern with this is the "minsrc". The tar I have with 2.0.2 is fullsrc. I did not see a 2.0.3 "fullsrc" There is no fullsrc tarball for 2.0.3. If you need all the libraries included (probably you do on Mac) follow the steps here to check out the 2.0.3 tagge...

Re: ubuntu: 2.01, 2.02 slow startup, jack problems

If it's on, try turning Transport > Software Playthrough off in Audacity, and choose a project rate that the device supports. When opening jackd and Audacity, the Audacity connections in qjackctl are not permanently available, only appearing when playback or recording is started, and disappearing wh...
