Re: Playback Speed
Is this a function of playback only on my system or does it show up when you playback the files. It sounds higher pitched, but it would be the same length as the original if there was not a pause between "you" and "O" (which makes it longer). You can get that effect if you do Ch...

Re: usefullness of envelope tool
So what you need is a user-settable option for either linear or logarithmic. And would that be a per-project setting or an overall Audacity setting? I guess it would work like the linear/logarithmic choices in Time Tracks; the display choice would be saved in the project file. Having a preference f...

Re: Possible noise issue in EQ A2.0.3
I don't know how you got such an erratic green line in EQ (the green line is the curve that Audacity actually applies). Does it help if you use a longer filter, which should bring the green and blue lines closer together? We cannot see enough of what you are doing. If the problem persists, please po...

Re: No sound after moving files to another computer
If you still have a problem try rebooting the computer.
If you burn the CD from the WAV files, you may find the CD is OK, given you can see the waveform. Are you sure you exported on the laptop as Microsoft 16-bit WAV?
You can buy USB CD burners for about £20/ $30.

Re: Local Help files
If you want, download and unzip this pre-2.0.3 version of Audacity to any different folder and see if it makes any difference to the problem: http://gaclrecords.org.uk/bugs/audacity-win-2.0.3-alpha_r12044_browser_open_patch.zip . It's just a test, you shouldn't use this instead of the installed 2.0....

Here is the support address for Audacity Portable:
http://portableapps.com/support/audacity_portable .
It's a different project to ours and we have no idea how it differs from Audacity.

Re: Strange meter behaviour when recording LP
Thanks. It's OK to complain about that - it's a known bug, but doesn't happen repeatably so it isn't easy to fix.marshallarts wrote:This is not a complaint - just an observation.
Does it stop happening if you turn off Transport > Overdub?

Re: (13.3.13-beta) Files corrupted when using "Export Multip
So the problem is with "Spin-it-again", is that what you are saying? Exactly what format are you exporting out to Click Repair (assuming you mean the Brian Davies software) and to "Spin-it-again"? Exactly what format do those applications give back to Audacity? Anything other tha...

Re: No Recording options?
I'm trying to record lines from a TV show for a soundboard kind of thing. I just play the show off of files on my computer. Why? What format are the files in? File > Import > Audio... in Audacity. If you need support for other file formats, install FFmpeg: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_i...

Re: Audacity crashes on launch Mac OSX 10.8.2
Waves V8 Audio Units shown in the crashed thread are known to be incompatible with Audacity. So you will have to move Waves where Audacity cannot find it, or disable Audio Unit support in Audacity by editing audacity.cfg. Did you make sure you force quit Audacity before editing audacity.cfg? See her...
