Setting the track to 32 bit float avoids quantize errors because the processed audio does not need to be converted to a lower quality format and thus dither is not required and not applied. Yes 32-bit is generally preferred as Default Sample Format in the Quality settings because dither will then n...

If you cannot launch Audacity in reasonable time because of the plug-ins, edit audacity.cfg to disable VST and Audio Unit support. See here for instructions.

Re: Using "select-all" just for audio
I don't know why Audacity passes short sounds to the effect, as if they would have the same duration as the longest one. I see, I did not realise that JHL was using Nyquist effects, which join separate clips together by converting white space to silence: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cg...

Re: Possible noise issue in EQ A2.0.3
It's easy to reproduce on Windows 7. New 32-bit project. Generate an "Audacity" DTMF tone, amplitude 0.8, 6 seconds, duty cycle 55%. After the "walkie-talkie" EQ, every absolute silence between the tone shows as non-zero samples, averaging about -80 dB, but the "tail" o...

Re: Playback Speed
There is no new feature in 2.0.3 for recording corrections - Audacity records in a new track starting from the existing cursor position, just as before. Bob just knows how to do "punch-ins" by himself, I guess :) Bob, have you checked the Presonus sample rates? I assume you have Transport ...

What application is converting to WMA Lossless in the final step? Are you sure the corruption is in the final WAV and not created by the WMA lossless conversion? Also if the problem is white noise, try turning off "Dither" under "High-quality conversion" in the Audacity Quality P...
