Re: Audacity complains about orphaned files

On the information presented, the orphan detection is correct. The files shown in the log (and so presumably in the _data folder) and not listed in the AUP file. The only safe way to rename a project is File > Save Project As and choose the new name. Don't change project files or folders in file man...

Re: Severe playback distortion defies all fixes?

Yes, Windows Direct Sound. I thought the Exclusive Mode boxes were only available in Win 7? Yes. My mistake, I only skim read your other post and happened to notice Windows 7 mentioned for the file source. But speed changes usually indicate sample rate problems. Can you think of something else rele...

Re: (13.3.13-beta) Files corrupted when using "Export Multip

When the problem occurs, the source file for dbPowerAmp is very small and no conversion is done. If you are using point labels with Export Multiple (you click then add a label rather than drag a region then add a label), make sure you don't do a shaky click and so drag a small region. If you have d...

Re: Audacity and movie files (ffmpeg)

If Gentoo have removed system FFmpeg as it sounds like, you'll have to uninstall Audacity (if it is a packaged build you downloaded somewhere), build and install FFmpeg yourself then build and install Audacity yourself.

Re: mp3 player cut off

Check in the player Manual what sample rates and bit rates it supports.

Only export MP3's from Audacity that are at those rates.

Re: Snap to region label boundary

I think the issue is probably this (it is in the Release Notes): http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=498 . Although the bug is "repeatable" with the project attached to the bug report, if I create a similar project in 2.0.0 and open it in 2.0.4 alpha, the snap line sometimes a...

Re: Severe playback distortion defies all fixes?

You don't say you have chosen Windows Direct Sound, both Exclusive Mode boxes checked in Windows, chosen a sample rate that Delta supports and also used that rate for the Audacity project rate. So try that (and start by choosing 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz). Here is the link: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/w...

Re: Help creating and applying a simple chain

2000 files is too many to apply at once. Try a few hundred. The file search in Chains is not recursive. The files must be in the directory that is opened in "Select file(s) for batch processing". You can only export WAV, MP3, OGG and FLAC in Chains. If you want an old experimental build th...

Re: FFmpeg library error

Are you compiling Audacity and FFmpeg yourself or using a package of Audacity supplied by someone else? If you are using a package, try installing FFmpeg with the package management system which should I assume put it in usr/lib. If FFmpeg is already there in usr/lib, press "Locate" in the...

Re: unistall one or more VST effect

The effects you mention like Amplify and Change Tempo are not VST plug-ins but built-in effects. You can remove built-in effects by editing language files, but I suspect you don't want to do that. The scan for VST effects is probably happening because you don't have any VST effects. In that case Aud...
