Re: Recordingvolume

Set the MM or MC switch on the Project correctly. If you are connecting the Project line out to the computer, connect to the blue line-in port of the computer, not to the pink microphone port. The microphone port will be mono or poor stereo and may distort. If you are connecting Project to the compu...

Re: No Recording options?

It could have broken my audio device? Are you for serious? Yes, if you did not have a Realtek sound device. From the sound of it, you do have Realtek. We just don't want other users who may have SoundMax, IDT or other sound devices to go downloading a generic Realtek driver thinking it will solve t...

Re: Possibly some bug nonsense

If your computer froze up, it isn't Audacity that is causing the problem, but some low level problem on your computer, possibly to do with drivers. Please see here for some help: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_errors.html#reboot . I rebooted. Ran Norton. When I opened the file I was workin...

Re: Help recording from a good sounding clip from source

For Audacity to record computer playback, the system output has to have some audible signal playing through it. The same goes for any other software that records audio as it plays through the sound device. There is no obvious reason for your problem if it really worked to your satisfaction on anothe...

Re: trouble with exporting

I'm having the same issue, though it's on the second recording I've done today, exporting to the same drive. It exports the first song and then kicks out the error message. The drive is 1TB with just under 300GB free. What is the exact text of the error message? Are you on a Mac computer or Windows...

Re: Imported .Wav is silent

Just to be sure, while you are trying to play the file in Audacity, left-click the speaker icon by the system tray, click "Mixer", then make sure the volume slider for Audacity is turned up and unmuted. You may have to scroll to right to see the slider. If necessary, try rebooting the comp...

Re: No Recording options?

your idea couldn't possibly work. First of all, I don't want to use the "line-in" Glad you got it fixed, but you were really lucky to get a generic Realtek driver to work for you and to add stereo mix into the bargain. For many people this would not work and could break the audio device c...

Re: Muting Sound from "Line In" Devices Audacity is Recordi

Also if you cannot stop Audacity producing output from the recording (though I would say this is broken if you followed all the steps), left-click the speaker icon by the system tray, click "Mixer", then mute the volume slider for Audacity. This lets you keep the sound output from other ap...

Re: Audacity files go to a cd

Assuming you downloaded Audacity 2.0.3, click File, then click Export..., then choose WAV (Microsoft) signed 16-bit PCM.
