Re: Record to same track

I'm not looking to over dub on an additional / new track. Looking to copy & paste on the existing track that's already there...or delete a portion of that track and add a new section to my "existing track." I'm not sure if you are asking about what's known as "punch-in" reco...

Re: What is "Merge," exactly?

When you paste at the end of a track (as opposed to in the middle of it), you are creating a "clip" within the track which can be manipulated separately from the audio to left of it. For example you could drag the clip to right to create space to left of it, or double-click in it to select...

Re: Warning - Orphan Blockfile(s)

I am wondering if the projects are always affected immediately so that you would always know as soon as you save it the first time and then reopen, or whether it is something which can happen over time even if you have not been using the project? I think I'm right in saying the latter is true. We d...

Excellent. I assume then the problem was that the Audacity temporary folder was set to somewhere you could not write.

Re: Help Resetting Preferences

in matters a bit complicated to get into, my Audacity will not give me any audio. I've concluded that it must be a preferences problem because I've tried everything I could think of as well as many suggestions in my input and output devices. When I try resetting preferences by installing a version ...

Mike, please don't post the same topic twice. It confuses rather than helping you get an answer. Topics merged. Please reply to Koz and Steve's questions if this is still a problem.

Re: Live Music Editing Tips?

Is there an existing way to split a project while saving - maybe like the "Export multiple" depending on labels? Hi Sven, This already has votes on Wiki Feature Requests. Is this a better solution than Save Selection as Project, or do we want both? I've started a new topic to discuss it. ...

Re: Keeping Temp files longer or autosave feature

I tested the "saving before recording" idea and it kept the project file but deleted all the audio files If you save a project before recording, you save an AUP file and a _data folder without any data in it. When you start recording, the recorded data is added to that _data folder. When ...

Re: Warning - Orphan Blockfile(s)

There are some known problems with project integrity but they are currently very occasional and non-repeatable, therefore not currently fixable. The issues and what you can do to protect yourself are outlined in the Release Notes . These problems will be much worse and more frequent if you are using...
