Re: LADSPA plug-ins for Mac
I think Ardour have only recently removed that download. We are trying to make the installer available on the site we recommend for LAME and FFmpeg downloads. We'll post here when that it is done. Meantime I do have a zip (not an installer) here: http://gaclrecords.org.uk/swh-plugins-mac-0.4.15.zip ...

Re: WIP: Enhancing Multichannel / Fix Single Channel Recordi
I don't think patches should be a big problem if we do like Steve suggests (including update the first topic with the latest patch for people coming new to the topic). This works with topics about Nyquist plug-ins as far as I know.

Re: Mac OS X 10.8.2 Problem loading Audacity
I did everything you said. Sorry about the duplicate post, I didn't know that each post/thread needed to be verified by moderators first! But yes, I know that the plug-ins are the problem. I created the folder, posted exactly that into a .cfg file inside of library/application support/audacity. Aga...

Re: mic icon disapeared from realtek audio manager
Realtek do not provide drivers matched to your motherboard, only a generic audio driver. I think they make this clear on their site. This may be the problem with the erratic behaviour on your machine. Have you looked in Windows to make sure Windows is set to display the external mic: http://wiki.aud...

Re: Looking for a "smooth" effect?
Doug may mean Effect > Change Speed which changes pitch and tempo as a result of changing speed. If you want to change pitch without changing tempo, or vice-versa, or in opposite directions, have you tried Effect > Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift? This produces less artefacts than Change Tempo and ...

Re: Is there a way to reduce peaks other than manually?
My mistake -- I wasn't dragging it onto the dmg. I opened up "Audacity 1.3.12," which looks like a hard drive... then tried to drop it into the Plug-Ins folder on that. No go. In Finder, a folder should look like a folder with a tab on it. Are you sure the folder for Audacity 1.3.12 is in...

Re: When I export a file, it doesn't act like it should!!
according to that link you sent me, Audacity should have warned me when I have a period in the file name. But you see, it didn't. It just exported the file with no hassle. Shouldn't that have happened? It won't warn if you were using File > Export Multiple because it just adds the expected extensio...

Re: When I export a file, it doesn't act like it should!!
Okay, I have recently installed Audacity version 2.0.3 on my computer. My OS is Windows Vista. I have just painstakingly edited an mp3 file so that it can infinitely loop. I download and installed LAME, I clicked Export, and after a bit of clicking, it exported as an Mp3. The problem is, the file i...

Re: Mac OS X 10.8.2 Problem loading Audacity
You have Waves V8 Audio Unit plug-ins in Thread 3. That thread is not crashing, but Audacity does not work with Waves Audio Units as noted in the Release Notes . So I definitely think you should disable Audio Units support (and also to begin with, VST support) in audacity.cfg. Are you sure you have ...
