Re: need help with settings for stereo cassette to music fil
When I listen through a cassette player directly through earphones, all sounds for left ear and right ear are how they should be on the original cassette recording. Since you said 'a' Cassette player, I assume that's different from the 'super usb cassette capture"... Does the 'super usb casset...

Re: Audio skips during recording
Many people find changing the buffer setting helps. Don't miss that one. Koz Thanks. I currently have it set at 100. Through some Googling, I find that most people use that buffer setting. Since I'm unfamiliar with this setting, is there a setting you could recommend for me to try? On Mac, the gene...

There is also Channel Mixer. See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Downl ... ns#install for how to install this plugin, according to what version of Audacity you end up using.

Re: Self-producing an Audiobook
How in beginners language, please, do you use 'Snap-to' when editing in order to return to a start point instead of going through the whole file again ? You don't - that is not what it's for. Have you tried Labels ? If you are playing audio, SPACE and SPACE starts playback from where you started. Gale

Your vote will be counted round about the 10th January (2017) along with anyone else who wants to add their vote for this.weldo5 wrote:Look my point is its not in the generate tone's drop down box. I could add that if I wanted to, but I think it needs to be a perm feature in this software.

Re: Audacity not picking up my voice with Mic plugged in
It is Version 2.1.2. I am plugging the mic into the sound card and then plugging that into the USB port. Audacity recognizes the mic just fine, but I'm not getting any sound waves showing up when I speak into it. Just a straight line. Unfortunately, that doesn't answer any of the questions I asked ...

Re: Désactiver haut-parleurs, streaming recording
If somebody when to know how to process in order to make the recording level independante to the play level, just select "Windows WASAPI" and a "loopback" sound device. I am glad it worked for you. For most people it works like that, but it is dependent on the sound card and its...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2
Cortana may take over the mic but that is probably not your problem. You won't solve this unless you choose the correct playback and recording devices in Audacity's Device Toolbar . As Doug said, you will hear nothing if you choose the Realtek Digital Output as Audacity playback device, unless you h...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2
I do not have connected a microphone or cassette to my PC, the only addition is a USB addition with seven additional ports. That could also cause a problem. It will probably take over as default Windows playback device. As for the playback device you refer to, what is there is the following: Playba...

Re: Audacity not picking up my voice with Mic plugged in
What version of Audacity are you using? Please see the pink panel at the top of the page and give us all three Audacity version numbers. Exactly where are you plugging the mic into the sound card? Are you using an adaptor to do that? Do you have phantom power switched on for the mic? If not, try tha...
