Re: Equalization preset curves dissapear
So if you delete all curve files except EQDefaultCurves.xml in ~/.audacity-data, then: launch Audacity (so you are only using the default curves set) run an effect other than EQ run EQ choose a shipped preset like AM Radio (but don't modify it) run EQ with that preset reopen EQ is the AM Radio curve...

Re: mic malfunctions in mono recording
Are you keeping 'Listen to this device' checked (on) when you record in TeamSpeak?
What is your objective? To record TeamSpeak conversations?
Do you have a second mic or some other input you can connect to the second channel of the preamp?
Do you still have Audio Buddy set to 48000 Hz?

Re: switch to Spectogram display by code
if Thinklabs did write code we could use here, it's not available as their modification is not open source as far as I could see. It was Vaughan's (Audacity developer) code. Even if it was Thinklabs code, the modification would have to be open source under our GPL licence. I think most or all of it...

Re: Need A Little Help Please
This works for joining separate Audacity tracks which are one above the other into one longer track: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/fa ... .html#join .cyberstasz wrote:Can you send me a link for combining two or more tracks?

Re: Permuted (?) blocks of input exactly 10 ms long, HELP!!!
"Latency correction" is only a physical shift backwards of the track after you stop recording, so not relevant. Yes, try a longer "Audio to buffer" if it happens again. If for example there was a Windows update for your built-in computer playback device and it was not a good upda...

Re: recording sound from specific application
So how you do you record a specific application (but excluding other applications that are also playing sound) on Linux - JACK? If so would this work on Windows? All I see on JACK for Windows are generic system capture inputs, plus it sees Audacity as "PortAudio". I can't see any way to cl...

Re: mic malfunctions in mono recording
Have you tried right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock > Recording Devices. Right-click over the line-in > Properties. Then click the "Advanced" tab. Does it help to choose a "stereo" option under Default Format?

Edit > Preferences, choose "Recording" on the left and make sure "Audio to buffer" is at least 100 milliseconds. Turn off Transport > Software Playthrough unless you need it. Are you append-recording to the end of the same track? If so this could be a bug (turn Transport > Overdu...

Re: Equalization preset curves dissapear
Thanks for the files and details but I cannot reproduce the problem on Ubuntu 64-bit where running Chris' Compressor flattens the EQ curves (whether the Chris effect is in a Chain or not). I see you have <curve name="namnlös"/> at the bottom of your EQCurves.xml file (underneath <curve nam...

Re: Recording gets automatically louder
Do you mean the longer you record for, the louder it gets until it distorts? Make sure you are actually choosing the Logitech as input device in Device Toolbar. Turn off Transport > Software Playthrough so that it is unchecked. Or do you just mean when you change to select the Logitech as input devi...
