Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
This is an old thread but I'm interested in the answer to the question "How do I mute one channel during recording. Koz says "You can try it, but I believe the controls are locked out during recording." - but he doesn't say which controls!! I have Version 2.0.3 under Windows. I've hi...

Re: analog High resolution output and recording?
I've "heard" that Windows re-samples everything to 48kHz... Windows doesn't do that, but many sound cards do. My understanding is that specifically, the Windows MME API resamples everything to 44100 Hz http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multichannel_Recording#Windows_Sound_Interfaces . Gale

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio
Thanks, Gale and Robert. I tried the lowering the EQ. Moved all the sliders above 800 Hz all the way down and get muffled sound and the buzz is still there. What are you trying to get rid of? I thought you meant the "crackle" distortion that is there slightly in the background noise and a...

Re: No input jack on new iMAC
the red print asked for more inf: I am on OS 10.8.2 and Audacity 2.0.3 installed from the dmg Thanks. I tried using the output jack as an input jack and neither Audacity or GRge Band could see it (a tape recorder plugged is as I had done it on the old iMac using the input jack). This is expected. T...

Re: issue with new dell laptop with Windows 8 and usb turnta
Is the turntable recording tall blue waves in Audacity as it used to? If yes, then it sounds like all you need to do is enable Transport > Software Playthrough (on/off) in Audacity which will let you hear while you are recording in Audacity. If you want to hear the turntable without recording, click...

Re: Worked then Nada
If you have a USB device, you could have accidentally pulled the cable out. If you have any kind of external audio interface or sound card, you may have to set it up in Apple Audio MIDI Setup before you can use it. Samsung PC / Windows 8 x64 I have downloaded the exe but when I click on it to install, the blue circular timer briefly pops up, then disappears and nothing happens. I now have downloaded 4 exe's and for some reason my pc wont let me throw them away in the recycling bin because it says that the fil...

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio
Noise Removal won't get rid of much of the crackling, and I think the crackle is too widespread in the upper frequencies to use Notch Filter. If you want a quick method, just open Equalization and reduce all the frequencies above 800 Hz by 30 dB (in Graphic EQ, move the sliders down). It will then s...
