Re: Changed behavior of graphic equalization in 2.0.3
I thought that the bug would be a mathematical thing not specific to operating system, but who knows. Yes, I am using Windows 7. Sorry if I'm not honoring proper procedure. You are probably correct this particular issue is not operating-system specific ;) but we still strongly prefer everyone who t...

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio
I renamed my dull-sounding but crackle-fixed file, sorry. Sorry, the code was indeed for mono sounds, And there's a wrong step-size, thats why it speeds up. Here's the correct version: (defun noise-red (s) (snd-avg s 50 1 op-average)) (multichan-expand 'noise-red s) This sounds a reasonably good com...

Re: Stereo Recording (Only One Channel Working)
I've noticed that there is a "Stereo Mix" option, but it was disabled by default. When I've enabled it, and made it the Default Device, no sound comes through whatsoever, not even only in one channel. That would be expected, because the "stereo mix" device is a special input tha...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
Wondershare Streaming Audio Recorder (which actually records pretty much perfect quality, even better than Audacity on my old XP computer). Surprising considering that it only writes to lossy MP3 and MP4, but if it grabs the stream direct from the application, this is entirely digital so could be b...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
@TimViper, I'm curious if this was ever resolved. I'm having the exact same issue. I have an HP computer with Beats Audio also, and have tried everything to get the sound to record like it used too, but so far have been unsuccessful. All my settings mirror what you had. It used to work fine on my o...

Re: nothing to computer from record player
I have windows 7 My turntable is Lenoxx tt500 We can't see over your shoulder so we will have to take it step-by-step. Switch the turntable on at the mains. Connect the USB cable to an empty USB port on the computer (not to a USB hub). Right-click over the speaker icon by the computer clock > Recor...

Re: audacity set up
Make sure you are sending Audacity audio (not MIDI) and not using MIDI controllers. Try all the steps here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_recording_troubleshooting.html#flatline . Choose the "Windows Direct Sound" host in Audacity Device Toolbar , not MME. According to http://www...

Re: Stereo Recording (Only One Channel Working)
Does the plug of the stereo Y cable have two tips for stereo? Is the plug in good clean state? If you are on Windows Vista or later (please state), right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock > Recording Devices. Right-click over the line-in > Properties. Then click the "Advanced"...

Re: Audacity window unminimizable on Windows 7
Thanks for the feedback. This is because the other secondary windows associated with the Chain processing always have focus rather than the main Audacity window. I will enter a report about it but I suggest you ALT + TAB to switch to other applications and resize their windows large enough to cover ...

Re: help getting rid of buzzing on audio
You may as I suggested have to trade between brightness and crackle, or see if Robert has another version of his script. The recording is badly damaged, after all.
