Re: Punch Copy/Paste
I did not try the "Eq Power" Crossfade type before, but I don't understand why if it is selected but the crossfade time is zero (off) that low Paste Mix values reduce the resulting volume even when pasted into audio that is at 0 dB. If it's a "feature" what is its purpose and wh...

Re: exporting wav to ulaw
The test_goldwave file worked The test_audacity or the test_audacity_default files did not work. The only obvious difference that I see is that the Audacity 8000 Hz uLaw file has metadata and the Goldwave version doesn't. Plus that again the Goldwave file has the FACT chunk moved to the end of the ...

Re: Sampling frequency ?
Thank you for the file. Is the file supposed to have two people taking at the same time? If speed of the file is too fast, try clicking in the name of the track, then choose "Set Rate" (at the bottom) > 44100 Hz. This will slow the track down. Does it sound correct now? USB interfaces like...

Re: Muddy Sound When Recording In Audacity
Is there a un/known issue that arises after a certain number of hourly use with the version listed above (1.3.14-BETA) and eventually the application degrades? No, nor with 2.0.3. Though if you were recording with RAM use enabled in 1.3.14 (a feature not provided in 2.0.3) it could be a possible ex...

Re: Unable to Play ADTS Formatted Audio Files
FFmpeg only claims to support AAC in ADTS format.
After installing FFmpeg you may have to locate it in Audacity .

Re: Punch Copy/Paste
"Before" and "Mix" suggested in that link would also be very useful. surely you would just click and paste rather than "Select -> Paste > Special > Before"? It could be useful for pasting before fixed points like labels or split lines. For people that are looking to re...

Re: "Some projects were not saved properly..."[SOLVED]
Glad it was solved. I couldn't find the folder with the corrupt file in it. Spotlight was returning no matches for the filename. Spotlight won't search the user's Library by default. To search there you have to press the "+" button in the search result, choose "System files" for ...

Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
Have you looked in the Windows control panel or the sound device's control panel? What version of Windows? I think a button rather than a slider is unlikely, but it is worth a look. Almost all mic inputs are mono. Does your laptop have a line-in, which would be stereo (blue)? Does your mic that you ...

Re: Stereo Recording (Only One Channel Working)
I think you may have to try a new cable, use another line-in (for example on a USB interface) or try recording from stereo mix as I described. What happens if you exchange the RCA cables at the keyboard - connect left plug to right output and right plug to left output? Which channel does not record ...

Re: Unable to open audacity 2.0.3
Let's get Audacity open first then worry about how to record Skype.
So try Skype > Quit Skype. Does Audacity open now? If not, try resetting audacity.cfg as above.
