Re: Crashing when I try to SAVE
Make sure you are using Audacity 2.0.3 from here http://audacityteam.org/download/mac . install Audacity properly according to the instructions on that page. Do not run Audacity from the DMG. Press the yellow Stop button before you save. If the problem continues open FInder, Go > Utilities > Disk Ut...

Re: Can't edit MP3 file
install FFmpeg ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins.html#ffdown ) then see if Audacity will import it. I suggest you use File > Import > Audio... in Audacity and select "FFmpeg-compatible files" in the file type dropdown box before importing the file. This s...

Re: Problems with Windows 8
What is the exact make and model number? If it's TonePort GX it does not officially support later than Vista. Or is it Pod Studio GX ? Whichever it is, have you been here and obtained the correct drivers? Are you connecting to an empty USB port? You must not connect to a USB hub to which other USB d...

Re: possible bug in loading of MetaData for Export?
Thanks for making the report, Mark, though it isn't actually a bug. Audacity does not support Album Title or Track Number in WAV as per http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV#Metadata so in fact the exported file has no metadata for those fields. If you import the file after export and Audacity shows...

Re: Screenshot Tools not working
I am currently on a Mac OS X 10.7.5 using Audacity 2.0.3 When I attempt to use the screenshot tool to capture a track image, all I get is a black png file as the output. I understand that I can use the screenshot tool for the Mac OS, but wanted to use the the one that comes with the program. Thanks...

We record a three hour long podcast, and during the closing of the last show the computer froze. If it's running out of battery, set up power management in the Windows Control Panel so you are alerted to running low. If it's not a battery problem, try here http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_e...

Re: Recording 2 things at once/muting channels
(using the balance control as a channel mute) Further to Koz's reply. If you have a separate line-in port then the mic port must almost certainly be mono. Have you looked in the Windows Control Panel and checked if you have a balance control, as I suggested before? Older versions of Windows just mi...

Snafder recommends no metadata.
If your application also has a bug of unpredictable playback, I don't think there is much conclusion to be drawn.
