The object of the exercise is not to send the playback back to the computer, only to your headphones.
Try using the push buttons on the mixer.

Re: creative soundblaster card problem
I am running Vista Home Edition 32 bit and Audacity 2.0.3 and it was installed from an exe. I have been copying cassettes from a tape deck using an ADS RDX-150 interface box for quite some time. I installed a Creative Sound Audigy SE card and am no longer able to do so. In what way? Are you saying ...

Re: Mac OS X 10.8.2 Problem loading Audacity
Why must I have to disable ALL VST plug-ins if I only want Audacity to not scan for WAVES VST plug-ins every time? Because Audacity lacks any way yet to selectively disable plug-ins. In my case, I do not want any Waves plug-ins to appear in Audacity, though I DO want other VST plugins to appear. So...

Re: Poorly written looping wiki - need help looping
Steve, I've tweaked http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Looping which I think is the page at issue. Retweak as you you want as I am not an expert on loops. As such an inexpert, two things struck me as unclear: Should the user be encouraged when only moderately zoomed in to choose selection edges that ...

What version of Windows?
Do you have the latest audio drivers for that version of Windows, as supplied by the audio device manufacturer, motherboard manufacturer or computer manufacturer ?
See http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Updat ... ce_Drivers .

Re: MP3 Exports in a Chain
it might be useful in writing chains if there were a down-sample (or re-sample) command available. There is such a command when operating Audacity manually, but not one available for use in a chain. We'll add your vote for that. We're aware of the problem and it would have been fixed by now if we h...

Re: Record Mic and Computer Sound Simultaneously
My objective: To be able to record my voice (for a podcast) AND my computers audio at the same time. It's not the best way to do it. You lose quality on the background music and you cannot edit the voice and background music separately. Your cough gets recorded into the music. Assuming your backgro...

Re: Going crazy... first track re-recorded on second track
Also make sure you are not sending Control Room output or the output you have on your headphones from the mixer to Audacity. Doing this will record the playback of the first track. Connect the "CD/Tape out", "Main output", "Alt 3/4" or similar to the computer. Look at t...

Re: Audacity transfer becomes erratic and stops recording
Windows Vista and later defragment automatically if your computer is on at night and you have not changed the schedule. Is it a USB recording device? If so make sure you are connecting to an empty USB port on the computer, not to a USB hub that already has other USB devices connected to it. Restarti...
