Re: Audacity keeps crashing on startup
If this is a specific project that is crashing, try File > Export..., choose WAV, restart Audacity then import the WAV and save it as a new project name. If there are multiple tracks and you need them kept separate, select each track in turn by clicking above its Mute / Solo buttons, File > Export S...

Re: Live Time stretch tool?
Even just having a key assigned to bring up the time stretch that is already availible in the effects menu Do you mean Effect > Sliding Time Scale? You can add a shortcut for this in the Keyboard Preferences . Choose the "Effect" Category then follow the steps in the link in the previous ...

Re: BUG: High Pitch/frequency cannot be changed
Audacity version: 2.0.3 OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Audacity type: Installed exe Audacity crashes 100% of the time when changing the pitch to a high frequency. Steps to perform to get the crash: 1. Re: MP3 Export problem
Try importing the file again then Effect > Normalize with "Remove any DC offset..." checked.
DC offset can cause clicks on edit or export, especially if exporting to lossy formats like MP3.

Re: Audacity modifications request
We pretend to launch Audacity when you hit a button, and after edition, save it in our specific audio format. In that case there isn't probably much of a licensing problem if for example you make Audacity a separate download. One of the developers made a custom "Audacity_Voice" for a clos...

Re: Using mike to record and play back
Can you right click the speaker icon next to your clock and select Recording Devices. Do you see your microphone listed? If you see microphone, click it and make sure it is selected as Default. Additional to that, if you don't see any inputs there, right-click and choose "Show Disabled Devices...

Re: putting mp3 in audio without cutting off previous record
Look at Help > About Audacity. If it does not say 2.0.3, you want to get the latest 2.0.3 here http://audacityteam.org/download/windows before you start Audacity the next time. Otherwise the only explanation I can think of is that the audio in the other tracks is corrupted, or you are out of disk sp...

Re: available in Mac App Store
We can't say Apple wouldn't approve Audacity if we haven't tried. To give you an example, I asked Apple back in November if they would review Audacity with a view to listing it on their accessible apps page: http://www.apple.com/accessibility/voiceover/applications.html . I'm still waiting for a re...

Re: stop-and-set-cursor: cursor moves too far
@Paul, I see what you are getting at, but I still experience the symptoms I was describing of playback restarted after SHIFT + A. These must be caused by the cursor going too far. I am not sure the symptoms you are describing ( before you restart playback) are caused by the cursor going too far. Per...

Re: stop-and-set-cursor: cursor moves too far
I don't understand what Gale is getting at. Go through a recording start and stop fashion with pause, and you hear everything. Use stop-and-set-cursor instead, and you don't. Why is that inconsistency a "feature?" Perhaps I don't understand what your issue is fully. I understand the SHIFT...
