Re: Problem to import MP3 files
I believe Audacity uses the Windows-supplied MP3 decoder. Audacity uses libmad: http://www.underbit.com/products/mad . You may have a problem with disk space or Audacity cannot read its temporary directory correctly. Audacity will decompress the entire MP3 file to lossless PCM which will take a lot...

Re: DC offset tool
I noticed the following behaviour which I don't understand. 1 Generate White Noise at amplitude 0.0005. 2 Effect > DC offset. 3 Add offset or Remove then Add, Dynamic, +0.84. 4 Effect > DC offset. 5 Remove offset, Dynamic. 6 Effect > Amplify offers + 30.6 dB to maximise amplitude which looks "w...

Re: pasting audio without silencing other tracks[SOLVED]
Now we can see clearly what is happening. You have sync lock tracks enabled. When you import the sound sample the existing tracks are moved and a short silent section is created. When he pastes the "I'm ready" sample, I think. ;) I wrongly thought the MP3 file contained all the random &qu...

Re: Solving "hollow" sound on playback
Thanks for posting your experience. I would hesitate to post that as a general solution, except perhaps the change from 24-bit to 16-bit if a computer was slow, because of the demands of the much higher sample rate. The problem you had may have been that some other setting in the sound device or com...

Re: Having a problem recording stereo mix(SOLVED).
Glad you solved the problem. The audio drivers that came with the drivers CD for XP will be very old now, so the motherboard or computer manufacturer may often have a later version (if they still keep XP drivers at all). Is there a way to mark a post Solved other than putting it into the subject? No...

Re: Audacity modifications request
we don´t pretend to comercialize the audacity version with our modifications. The GPL allows resale, but what it insists on is that the GPL licence is present and the source code offered. The GPL doesn't forbid branding with your own company logo, but Audacity Team discourage heavy branding with yo...

Re: Using mike to record and play back
Where are you plugging in the mic with "the 2 little round type"? Does its connector look like one of these connectors?

Can you find the make and model number of the mic?

Re: Updating to 2.0.3 -- need to keep plugins
I believe that Plug-ins "should" not be affected The Audacity installer will overwrite plug-ins in the Audacity "Plug-Ins" folder that have the same names as the plug-ins it's installing, without prompting. It will leave all other plug-ins in that folder untouched. All the EQ cu...
