Re: Exporting in FLAC
I made the assumption then that the problem was unique to my machine/application – not that there was something universally wrong with Audacity. Thanks, but if so it would be even more important for you to post in the Windows, Mac or Linux board so at a minimum we know automatically what operating ...

Re: Randomly losing signal(input jack, not USB)
It's windows xp. OK, but until you say actually that, we're in the dark. We asked other questions too which you haven't answered. We can only carry on the help process if you give us information when we ask for it. Can you find the XP Service Pack number? My Computer > Properties will tell you that...

Re: Exporting in FLAC
As it says at the top of the page in pink: If you require help, or think you have found a "bug", please post on the forum board relevant to your operating system. So please start by telling us your exact operating system and how you are encoding the FLAC (what menu items and buttons you pr...

Re: Randomly losing signal(input jack, not USB)
Split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=71763 and merged here (that topic is about USB connection). Even if were using USB, it is better as a separate topic than trying to help two people with different equipment in the same topic. Please, stay in this topic now. I notice ...

Re: Overdub problems
I changed the topic title to "Overdub problems". Windows Media Player would play through the IDT built-in device, not through the Behringer, unless you had set Behringer as default Windows playback device. So is the problem when you set both the playback and recording device in Audacity to...

Re: Hello Need Help With Recording
Audacity is not a video editor, only audio. Have you enabled Transport > Software Playthrough so you can now hear yourself recording? There may be better ways to hear yourself. What version of Windows are you on? Note that you should have copyright permission to reuse instrumentals from YouTube. I s...
Re: WASAPI
Please read the Windows 7 page on the Wiki for information about audio on Windows 7. Current Audacity releases do not directly support WASAPI - MME and Windows Direct Sound are emulated on top of WASAPi (this makes Windows Direct Sound have more latency than it did under XP). At your own risk, you c...

Re: its not recording with my interface
Turn off Transport > Sound Activated Recording. Plug into a spare USB port on the computer, not into a USB hub that connects other USB devices. Reboot the computer. If necessary, Edit > Preferences: Recording and increase "Audio to Buffer" above 100. Most of the above is covered in the Rec...

RE:Correcting wrong recording length[SOLVED]
There is no automatic method. Assuming the pitch is also wrong on the track that recorded too fast or slow, you can try an extremely small Effect > Change Speed on the track that is incorrect. If you first of all open Effect > Change Tempo and enter the required length of the track that would make ...
