Re: Possible bug: playback at 0.1x sounds same as 0.01x
Thanks, Trebor. I agree testing in HEAD on Windows 7 that 0.1x on Play-at Speed is a low as it actually goes. 0.1x Play-at-Speed sounds the same as Time Track at 10% or Change Speed at -90%. This behaviour changed in 2.0.3 but listening to 0.1x Play-at-Speed in 2.0.2 sounds too low, so it was not co...

Re: Audacity kills Sound after Start. (SB Audigy 2 Platinum)
If your playback list is complete, try enabling the motherboard audio, instead of using only SoundBlaster. See http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=205035#p205035 . Look on the ALSA / Ubuntu forums for Linux drivers for Audigy, if you have not already done so. Try installing Pulse Audio Vol...

Re: Export Multiple: Time or Phase Shift or Pad
I'm trying this, but it somehow isn't working. I'm using Windows 8, and Audacity 2.3 The easiest solution is to trim off the pre-zero audio before exporting. A quick way to do this: Ctrl+A (select All) shift+Home (adjust the start of the selection to the "start" t=0.0) Ctrl+T (Trim) After...

Re: Were can I download Audacity 1.3 to use on Win7?
The skipping occurred with the wasapi loopback from Speaker (Sound blaster x-fi xtreme Audio) The Sound Card has a really bad latency of about 200 (-400 correction). It is now at the Default 100/-130. The results above are from an overdub recording. The original recording was also done with the WAS...
Re: need help
What is the make and model number of the USB device you are recording with?
What happens if instead of rebooting, you launch Audacity then choose Transport > Rescan Audio Devices? Can you then choose your USB device from the list of input devices in Device Toolbar ?

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
If a Taskbar button for Audacity appears when you try to launch it, please try clicking that button. I have a program called Slim Drivers and ran a complete scan. The result was that all drivers are up to date. The scan is only what it can find on the internet, like Windows Update. What is the exact...

Re: Compiling error: File not found while copying
I did download the minimal tarball - Btw I found two other problems while compiling the tarball project under VS2008 (Unicode Release): - a missing include folder (which makes the line #include "float_cast.h" in Equalization.cpp fail), and - a reference to FLAC++ in ODDecodeFlacTash.h (so...

Re: Compiling error: File not found while copying
I had the same error, and fixed it. But it's not the same error as this article originally described. I'm compiling Audacity 2.0.3 on Windows XP - the Unicode release version. It turns out the file "plug-ins/analyze.ny" is missing from the tarball for version 2.0.3. It's the first time I ...

Re: Were can I download Audacity 1.3 to use on Win7?
I've tried it too. The Level was actually not so bad. I've no Stereo mix, hence I record directly Stereo out > line-in with a Loop cable. At 100% Input and 80% Output, I've got: - line-in cable (MME and WDS) 0 dB - WASAPI -1.8 dB. That sounds a good result. My source was an interview with music pla...

Re: Closing a hole in a recording
I record from my old 1960's and 1970's LPs to CD. Sometimes the LP has a repeating skip. How can I mark, delete the skipping, and splice the remaining stuff together? Searched FAQ, and manual, but just did not find. When I try, it ends up deleting the entire track. Audacity 2.0.3, Windows XP SP3 Yo...
