Re: keyboard shortcut to amplify
What I'm actually asking for is to find a keyboard shortcut that will open the box that allows me to amplify a track. This box appears after chosing Effect> amplify... You have to add your own choice of shortcut for Amplify using Edit > Preferences then choose "Keyboard": http://manual.au...

Re: *how to eliminate dither...?
I had the project sample rate set at 8000Hz unknowingly...was the sample rate set automatically to match the original wav file? If there are no tracks in the project already, importing a file will change the project rate if necessary to match the rate of the file. If there are already tracks in the...

Re: Win 7 Pb de stéréo mix
Excuse me, I did something wrong. Indeed, with audacity-win-r12316-2.0.4-alpha-08-may-13.zip I can choose "Windows WASAPI" instead of "DirectSound", and it works! I can finally register. Good. ;) Is the recording loud enough? Is there still a problem with recording from Realtek ...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
I'm fairly computer savvy and think you're right about maybe the way Windows interfaces with the sound device. However, all sounds work properly: Windows sounds, YouTube, CD's, mp3's, etc. So I don't have an issue with sound per se as far as I can tell. It all goes back to Audacity not launching. C...

Re: view list of tracks created?
I just finished creating multiple tracks for a long concert so that I can have mp3's to burn to a CD. I didn't write the label names as I went, but when I went to export multiple files I get the box where I can enter the names of the files, which I'd like to do. Is there an easy way to see the name...

Re: Can exporting a file onto an SD card cause problems?
I think Steve gave you a very full description. Please don't blame Audacity for this. It just writes data to the storage medium you point it to. If you point it to a less reliable, relatively flimsy medium like SD/memory cards then you take your chances. Use a USB stick instead.

Re: Punch-In Noise
Are you recording with Transport > Overdub on (checked)? If so and you don't need it, does turning it off stop the noise?

Re: Regular Interval labels ignores , as decimal separator
And there may also be rounding issues that are separate, if it's the second slider (or second control) we change? I rarely use sliders. But try this running in a comma separated locale. Launch Audacity Generate > Pluck Click in "Duration" after the "0" of "1,0". Press &...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3
I believe I understand how to make a device the default input in Sound as you have explained it well. However, In attempting to selectively disable any inputs or outputs, for some odd reason, when I right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, followed by left clicking on "Recording Devices...

Re: Regular Interval labels ignores , as decimal separator
It's a problem (bug) that applies to Nyquist slider controls, so it could affect any current or future plug-in, but it may not affect all Nyquist plug-ins. With German locale set on Windows, I did 10 Generate > Plucks, 10 Generate > Risset Drum and 10 Generate > Click Track, setting a non-integer d...
