Re: Building a Help project
I do not expect the my instructions would go to audacity/win/compile.txt. Perhaps it is best to post it elsewhere. If the users do not have some experience, it is better to have the step by step instructions. If you want to, I can email my instructions to you to review once I finish to decide what ...

Re: Audio desync caused by Audacity
Unfortunately, the "clock" built into consumer level devices are often not very accurate, so when you intend to record with a sample rate of 44100 Hz, you may actually be recording with a sample rate of 44099 Hz or 44101 Hz. Differences between the sample rates of different devices will c...

Re: Nyquist does not work after update
Thanks. Extra Gatekeeper security was introduced in macOS 10.12.1 which we believe is the cause of the problem. We are working on this now for the upcoming 2.1.3 release. It is better now on most machines, but not fully working on all. To fix it, open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app. Copy the b...

Re: FFMpeg DLL not being recognized (not a n00b)
@ciscovoiceguy: As this appears to be a bug report, please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page). A complete log is preferred. The current Audacity 2.1.2 release "should" prepend FFmpeg path (meaning it should look first in the location ...

Re: Audio desync caused by Audacity
What is the make and model number of the mic and how does it connect to the computer? Through a USB mixer or some pre-amp? How much desync is there? It could be you need to ensure sample rates are matched between Audacity and the recording device. See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_recording...

Re: Building a Help project
I have started to work on the instructions. It would be quicker to just tell us what is wrong or confusing with the current instructions. The developers won't accept long essays in compile.txt. Or if you are writing a complete step by step with images, you would probably be better to create that on...

Re: Audacity Selection Problem
I assume you meant Audacity 2.1.2.
Change Snap To at the bottom back to "Off". See http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sele ... .html#snap for what that feature does.

Re: audacity 2.1.2 recording stop problem
Most USB cassette capture devices and the cables that come with them are cheap rubbish, not to put too fine a point on it. Perhaps try replacing the USB cable with a known good one. Make sure project rate bottom left of Audacity is 44100 Hz. Higher rates may cause the problem you have. Or as you kno...

Re: Customizable toolbar
You can define keyboard shortcuts for your wanted effects and hide the effects you don't want to use by disabling them in Plug-in Manager.
Do you still want to vote for an Effects toolbar?

Re: Building a Help project
There is no need to mention the problem with incorrect information about copying folders into Widgets. We'll correct that, though there will probably be a new option to download our own patched version of Widgets. Note that we won't want to make win\compile.txt verbose, because it is intended for de...
