Re: Flat Line with Terratec DMX 6fire USB - pls help!
I am screwed in to the earth 'knob' on the back of the Terratec which is why I don't understand the buzzing. And like I said, it's only happening in Audacity, as the buzz wasn't present in a test recording I did into Garageband with the same set up.... So really confused as to what the buzz is? Hav...

Re: Flat Line with Terratec DMX 6fire USB - pls help!
Sorry what is WASAPI? It's the latest sound system on Windows computers. Sound on Vista was a bit of a mess but since then Microsoft has introduced a new sound system called WASAPI (Windows Audio Session API). FWIW, WASAPI was introduced with Vista ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_features_...

Re: Flat Line with Terratec DMX 6fire USB - pls help!
I thought that Audacity could only work with 16-bit devices On Windows operating systems. (The 2.0.4 version of Audacity will support WASAPI as the host system which I think does support 24 bit) I believe that to be the case - but reports indicate that WASAPI in Audacity can be a bit flaky :( I'm n...

Re: Wave Form and Volume Low Since Using 2.0
now I need to get the Audacity volume up so I can go back to work. Do you mean the recording volume, playback volume or both? I discovered: 1. That the volume is low on my computer EXCEPT when I use my headset for playback and then it is loud and clear. Does this headset connect by USB cable? If so...

How safe is running a boot time scan? It's as safe as any computer operation is. If there is a virus or other malware in operation, it is better that Avast! deletes or quarantines it (according to how you set the options for the scan) rather than leave the malware running. Are there any precautions...

Re: getting recorded music to download into laptop

When you talk about when I try to download them into my laptop I have to remove a song from my laptop to place a new one in are ...

Re: Sample format to import DAT over TOSlink
I see. So it arbitrarily chooses to record either the left or right channel. I think Audacity consistently receives what the sound device chooses to give it when the sound device has a stereo stream but is asked for mono. If you want to control what Audacity does, record in stereo then Tracks > Ste...

That's no good reason not to improve our click removal though, or make Repair work on decent sized selections.waxcylinder wrote:Yes, but Trebor's example just shows how truly excellent Brian's ClickRepair software isGale Andrews wrote:Audacity's Click Removal would do a good job if ...![]()

Re: view list of tracks created?
As I went through the song, I stopped the recording at the beginning of each new song and "entered label at playback," typing in the name of the next song as its "label." OK, if you did CTRL + B (Tracks > Add Label At Selection) then whatever you typed in the label that appeared...
