Re: No sound from mic connected to MAudio interface

The M1 seems to be a dynamic mic so doesn't need phantom power. So to be clear, are you connecting M1 directly to the M-Audio guitar input? Choose the M-Audio as Recording Device in Audacity's Device Toolbar . If you are recording in mono into the guitar input, try recording in stereo (next setting ...

Re: skips in vocals

I have been here before I merged your new topic back into this one, so that we don't get confused thinking it's a new question and repeat the answer already given here. Please review this topic carefully and read the links therein (links are in blue text, click them to read more). If it's a recordi...

Re: Improvements to various effects

time-pitch stretching: doing it without making it sound maybe not blurry (similar to tube-yoplait commercial effect) Are you going to write such an algorithm for us? You can read the Manual to see the tradeoffs between using Change Tempo/Change Pitch and Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift. In the next ...

Re: Keyboard Bounce and Close Dialog

Windows 10 and Audacity 2.1.0; .exe install. Hi. I am in the midst of recording .MP3 files from 80+ old Vinyl albums via USB. With so many tracks to record, I have done what I can to shorten the process --- shortcut keys and tonearm proficiency. While I am left-handed, both the tonearm and the keyb...

Re: Multitracks

I don't know how to decode/decompress a DTS WAV file, but you could research it, or maybe someone else here knows how. It might be as simple as changing the file extension from WAV to DTS... FFmpeg 2.2.2 recommended for current Audacity 2.1.2 can import DTS with a RIFF WAVE header. You have to tell...

Re: Track Alignment Help

If you have audio between 0 and 13 seconds in track 4 that you want to keep, then you'll have to drag all the tracks to right by 13 seconds. I'm trying to align two different tracks, track #3 and track #4. A bell rings in track #3 at 30.902 seconds. A different bell rings in track #4 at 42.943 secon...

Re: How to get Bandstop Nyquist Plugito show up in Plugin Ma

"High Pass Filter' and 'Low Pass Filter' are in the Audacity Plugin folder like 'Band Stop filter' but they are not showing up in Plugin Manager either. The folder is called "plug-ins" - I think it may require the "s" at the end of the name. If that does not help, it is pro...

Re: A Noobish Question?

You must capture both Discord and your mic in Voicemeeter. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6rp9lkiFBU - but that records your voice and computer sound mixed together. If you want to record Discord and mic on separate left and right channels, you could try the more advanced version of Voicemeete...

That is the correct (and only) instruction page for recovering an unedited recording without a usable AUP file.

Re: Multitracks

I had ffmpeg and Lame libaries before and i still couldn't open that file properly. Please tell us what version of Audacity you are using (see the pink panel at the top of the page). LAME is only for exporting MP3. Audacity on Windows uses a fairly old version of FFmpeg that may not support the for...
