Re: Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
You are suggesting a conditional behaviour for the Stop button rather than having it do one understood thing. The behaviour is conditional whichever way you do it: Current behaviour: If playback is stopped while Paused (condition) then stop and return cursor to previous play-from position. Proposed...

Re: Audicity Won't Launch
I also tried updating the various sound drivers, but Windows says they're all up-to-date. That often does not mean much. There is still a chance that audio drivers are the problem. If the drivers are made by Microsoft, they are only generic drivers and they may not be robust against other programs ...

Re: Exoprt label with unicode create duplicate labels
Thanks for the report. There does not seem to be a problem on Windows using a similar track layout to you and Bengali (Bangladesh) keyboard input language. Exactly what language is top of the list in Mac System Preferences? Exactly how are you inputting Bangladeshi characters into the label? Gale

Re: Change WAV bitrate using Chain
I want to create a Chain, so that I can automatically change the bitrate of some MP3 files and export them as WAV. The way I do it right now is I load the MP3, change the bitrate for the project using the box on the lower left side of the Audacity widow, and then export to WAV. Is there a way to au...

Re: Audacity could be more helpful when paused ...
Would it be beneficial if "Stop" when paused left the playback cursor in the current position rather than returning it to the previous playback position? If the user wanted to stop and go back to the original play position, why did they press the Pause button? Surely the fact that the use...

Re: Problem when recording from tapes
I do not have the USB audio codec choice at all - only Primary Sound Capture which I found it worked well on and then stopped, or Microphone Realtek or REaltek Digital Input. Restart Audacity. If Audacity still has no USB Audio CODEC choice for input, follow all the steps in the green box "Det...

Re: recover project from copied temp folder
It doesn't take long to recover a project, even if it is hours of audio. It is quicker than importing a file of the same length. If you don't have the original temp folder (only the copy with the changed timestamps) then the auotosave file would also have been deleted. To see if you can get the auto...

Re: Amplify when exporting to mp3 from wav
I am playing both the wav and the mp3 files on my PC using Windows Media. Then there is no reason for a dramatic change in volume. Might you have turned down the gain on the Audacity track? If so, double-click on the -....+ scale to left of the blue waves, type "0" (number zero, without q...

Re: Improving "Clip Fix"
In this final example, we have a region selected that included "not clipped" waveform, surrounded by clipped waveform - After Repair shows that the "not clipped" waveform has been clipped (so as to match the surrounding waveform). This illustrates why we can't just iterate acros...
