Re: Audacity 2.1.2 problems with LAME library recognition
Thanks for that tip. Did not work for me however. I did find if toggled the File Types to 'All files' instead of the dylib string it changed the greyed-out file name to black and allowed selection. Now it is working for me. In theory it should not have made difference but it did. For me on Sierra 1...

Re: No sound through headphones
Here is the message I got: Stream is active ... unable to gather information. Press the yellow Stop button, then try Help > Audio Device Info... again. Have you tried turning up the playback volume in Mixer Toolbar? What version of Audacity are you using? Give us all three numbers from Help > About...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 problems with LAME library recognition
Gale: Just tried what you suggested, and when I click on "Locate" for the LAME dylib file, it shows that it is in the Audacity folder where I placed it, but it is still greyed out so that I cannot select it. I successfully made an MP3 file yesterday from one of my cassettes. Is it possibl...

Re: No sound through headphones
I am not able to run Audacity through the 2i2 with or without overdubbing. I did try selecting the 2i2, in Audacity. Audacity still does not play through the headphones. With the 2i2 explicitly chosen as Playback Device in Device Toolbar , ensure that the Audacity playback volume is turned up (spea...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 problems with LAME library recognition
Running into same problem. Running macOS Sierra. Thought it was permissions issues as default folder on installer comes up as read only but if install to another location that is supposed to have read/write it is still greyed out when going to Preferences and telling Audacity where the library file...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 problems with LAME library recognition
Also, I did "explode" the DMG and go through the installation process as instructed. I did not know there was a problem until I went through the instruction manual that came with the USB Cassette Converter and got to the "detecting the MP3 Library" part. Don't use the LAME DMG. ...

Re: repeat a selection over and over..
If you Effect > Repeat... a selection, the selection is extended.
If you then File > Export Selected Audio..., you will export only the selection that you extended.
If you FIle > Export Audio..., you will export the entire track, including the extended selection.

Re: Help exporting casette tapes
File > Export Audio... is correct for WAV. But, don't put periods (dots) in the file name when you export. If you want to export for example Cowboy.Song.WAV you must type exactly that, including the terminating ".WAV". Otherwise you'll export a file called "Cowboy.Song". If that ...

Re: Creating a group of mono tracks
The label track differentiates the Sync-Locked Track Groups. The label Track is the only delimiter. So if you want to define tracks 3 and 4 of five tracks, you need two label tracks, one between audio tracks 2 and 3 and the other between audio tracks 4 and 5. Audio Tracks "1 and 2" and &qu...
