Re: Audio Interface
I just ran a line from interface headphone to mic line in on computer.Like suggested sound came through that way monitoring & all. Do you have two inputs (blue for line-in and pink for microphone in)? If you have blue line-in, use that. A single mic input (if that is all you have) may not be ve...

Re: Mix and Render problems
If you obsess about fixing it then perhaps you should do what I suggest about the Audio Device Info. You probably do need to look at buffer lengths and sample rates. Try increasing the former (look in the Audacity Recording Preferences) and setting the latter to 44100 Hz or 48000 Hz (the Audacity se...

Re: Is it possible to rebuild this file?
What I did was take all the .aup files out of each folder (d00 - d08) and combined all of them into one folder which gave me 2166 .aup files. Then I used the the tools described to rename & recover the audio. That then gave me the 2 wav files channel 1 & 2 that were 107mins in length that p...

Re: Recording Quality Problem
I did try this afternoon doing what you said...muting the speaker in hopes of forcing the mic to become an input, and at the same time, muting the mic in the Recordings tab. I then opened Audacity, but it still doesn't recognize it as a mic input. I am only guessing that is how it works. My bet wou...

Re: Audacity 2.0.3 Crashing when opening mp3 file
I've been having issues with opening certain mp3 files. Everytime I open certain files Audacity crashes. The strange thing is that I can open other files without problems, only certain ones seem to cause it to crash. The problem file is one of several which I extracted from a CD and it seems to pla...

Re: Improving "Clip Fix"
Danni Coy's effort seemed very promising I've only had a brief look and I've not tried it, but this looks like it is exactly what Quant is asking for. I tried building it on Windows, adding to LoadEffects.cpp: + #include "RepairClipping.h" + em.RegisterEffect(new EffectRepairClipping()); ...

Re: Mix and Render problems
You're right I guess there's nothing more without having other people experiencing the same thing, but I will say that what seemed to fix it was one of the earlier replies, the gaps, the stereo to mono and throwing away preferences didn't help but so far filling in the gaps with silence has worked,...

Re: Gradual desync introduced with long recordings
I use ffmpeg to extract the audio track from the mp4 video file, then when I process it in Audacity 2.0.3 and then save the resulting m4a file, the length of the track is shorter by about 2 seconds of a 53 minute recording. The audio/video sync is perfect before processing with Audacity. To try to ...

Re: Improving "Clip Fix"
I too find Repair produces more pleasing sounding results and have already made some modifications to the source code (for my personal use) that might have some bearing on this topic. I thought I had posted the code here but I can't find it; it does a couple of things: 1) adds a new preference item...

Re: Audacity Won't Launch
Thanks for letting us know. :D It's just as well you don't want to use that web cam, but it shouldn't cripple the audio system like that. Does it connect via USB, and if so are you connecting it to a spare USB port? I could believe Windows complaining if you connect it to a USB hub. If the web cam n...
