Re: Audacity 2.0.03
I installed version 2.0.3 over 2.0.0 and after getting windows 7 to set my microphone to default it finally will record as did the 2.0.0 version Audacity should record from your microphone providing it is enabled in Windows. If it is enabled but not default, Audacity should record from it but you w...

Re: 2 questions
I guess both would be nice options to have to allow for specific uses. I'll add your votes. And if I as a user tell the program to not prompt me to save then I accept any data loss ;) That is the problem with the second suggestion - if this was ever implemented there would be restrictions such as y...

Re: Decrease volume by x% (with Amplify)?
You could use Effect > Adjustable Fade and set Start and End to 90 with the "Start/End as" as "% of original" - this does the job without typing a command. I will leave the experts to decide if there would be any difference between using Fade Up, Down or their S-Curve equivalents...

Re: Zoom in (and out) into marked interval?
Assume I loaded an *.mp3 song. Now I mark a certain interval/part from the fuill length. Can I somehow zoom into this interval? . View > Zoom to Selection - please see http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/zooming.html#horizontal . Can I (later after editing) zoom out the the full song back again? I...

Re: Showing only ONE Waveform/auto-close previous?
Assume I drag one *.mp3 onto Audacity then a wavform is shown. Fine. Now I drag a second *.mp3 onto Audacity then the existing Waveform is shrinked by 50% so that a second Waveform fits into the window too. Presumably this is because you turned on "Automatically fit tracks vertically zoomed&qu...

Re: Recording Quality Problem
I went to the Recordings tab and right clicked on empty space. One of the options was to "Show Disabled Devices". I clicked on that, and a Recording input called "Stereo Mix" appeared. It has a level control of its own. I set that input as the default, and now Audacity recognize...

Re: 8bit conversion
If I import, say, an .aiff file, and save it as an .aup file - I can't do that in 8 bit - "that" means saving it as an .aup file, in the Audacity environment. If you read our documentation, there is no suggestion that you can save an 8-bit AUP. You can choose 16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit reso...

Re: Gradual desync introduced with long recordings
I got the extracted audio file from the file share site. It was extracted by current FFmpeg as you say. Audacity cannot import with current FFmpeg on Windows and is restricted to the 0.6.2 version you downloaded from the buanzo site. On Windows 8, I don't have QuickTime or iTunes, so Goldwave doesn'...
