Re: Recovering A Recording

I was able to recover the recording. Thank you all. :D :D Can the older versions of Audacity & the New Version be somehow burned onto a CD or saved on a USB Flash Drive so I can put the program on my friends computer? He doesn't have internet access. I don't recommend older versions - I suggest...

Fractional BPM in Change Tempo effect

[Topic split from http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=215663#p215663] I cheat by entering the length or BPM values in Effect > Change Tempo. The Quick Calculator is more accurate. For example, according to "Change Tempo", from 45 to 33.3333 = -26.667 (tempo values are truncated t...

Re: cut preview problem

My choice would be to only preview non-muted tracks. I'm going to change my vote. "Cut Preview" is intended to preview the effect of cutting. I'm changing my vote for it to work in the same way as Preview in other effects - that is, to preview a mix of the selected tracks regardless of mu...

Re: cut preview problem

D) Preview the mix (thus respecting Mute and Solo, and ignoring track selectedness). Didn't we discuss this a year ago, and didn't the discussion get onto the -quality mailing list? Don't know about that, but it's already logged on bugzilla http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=231 . I e...

Re: Prevent prompt "Save changes before closing"?

MP3 files have to be transcoded into Audacity 32-floating internal format, so yes, you have changed the MP3 by importing it. We warn people never do production in MP3. Koz You have not changed the MP3 - you have changed the project by copying the MP3 into it, leaving the MP3 unchanged. But users ca...

Re: change to audacity2.x

I have now successfully downloaded Audacity 2.03. But in burning my rcording to disc, I have found that apart from the 1st track, all the following tracks have a false start of about 1second, then a slight gap, then the track is played. The recording plays perfectly well on my computer when I open ...

Re: Quick conversion calculator

" Tempo Change as % " may be useful when using the "Change Speed" or "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" effects. If you know the current tempo in bpm and the desired tempo in bpm, use "Tempo Change as %" and enter the original tempo and target tempo as two nu...

Re: Recovering A Recording

Is there anything I can do? What are you trying to do that is an Audacity problem? Audacity 1.3 (whichever version of it you have) is long obsolete. Please look at Help > About Audacity and give us all three Audacity version numbers (1.3.something). You should get the latest 2.0.3 version here: htt...

Re: Recovering A Recording

Can I recover the Final Version of that song? Probably not, unless you made a back-up of it somewhere. "System Restore" only backs up system files, not data files. Not exactly true on Vista (Ultimate/Business) and then all versions of Windows 7 and later. Creating a Restore Point saves co...
