Re: Apply Chain worked fine, now it's crashing
Mac X.6.8, dmg version 2.0.3 – Have run numerous batches of compress/normalize/export mp3 with no problem. Suddenly Audacity has started crashing after processing the second or third file in a batch. Have already deleted Audacity Application folder and App Support folder, then reinstalled, but prob...

Re: Opening m4a files
You probably managed to delete separate FFMpeg software which is required to open and play M4A files. On Mac you can tell Audacity in the Extended Import Preferences to try the QuickTime importer first for M4A files, so you don't have to use FFmpeg for importing M4A files. To do that, press "A...

Re: Need mark in TimeLine when recording
Do you have any thoughts as to how to accomplish keeping the Point markers in sync with the recording when I am deleting sections of the recording? Drag the audio selection down into the label track, or enable Tracks > Sync-Lock Tracks, then the labels will move back without having to select in the...

Re: cant install onto my mac
- I first tried to create one in a "Portable Settings" folder, as described.. Upon retrying to launch Audacity, it always creates an identically named file in that same folder, with the addition of some lines, e.g. Audacity's version number.. as well as a plugins.cfg file. - Then, i went ...

Re: Help! Audacity not picking up sound from stereo mix :(
I've selected the right things then. The box isn't checked. There is nothing registering on the sound bars and nothing recording. No pop ups or messages. I just don't understand! It was working a while back but not now. Can you hear the video you are playing? Turn the Audacity output slider up. Tur...

Re: Help! Audacity not picking up sound from stereo mix :(
I need to record some sound from a streamed video. I can hear the sound and have stereo mix enabled but audacity wont record it! I've tried all combinations of options in audacity for recording but to no avail! I'm going crazy! If you are in a rush, try http://www.milosoftware.com/en/index.php?body...

Re: Stops recording after 2 minutes
Please check you don't have a selection in another track extending from zero to 2 minutes. If so, click in that track then press the mauve |<< button or press HOME on your keyboard. That puts the cursor at time zero and new recordings will start from there. Make sure Transport > Sound Activated Reco...

Re: can't unzip band-stop filter plug-in
It unzips correctly even if dragged elsewhere. That error usually means there is already a folder with the same name that you are trying to extract to. Unzip to another name. The extracted "bandstop.ny" needs to be in the root of the "Plug-Ins" folder, not in another folder insid...
