Re: Help
My file says .aup, and I am attempting to convert the file to work on my Windows laptop and desktop. The file we were originally trying to change was an .aiff file. The AUP on its own is not enough. You need to bring across the AUP file and the _data folder of the same name as the AUP from the othe...
Re: Help
I think it's still true that Windows will not play Mac AIFF files Modern versions of Windows can play AIFF files written on Mac. Perhaps Windows XP cannot. Macs have no idea what to do with a Windows Media file. That is still true. You have to convert WMA files. On Windows, iTunes will offer to con...

Re: [question all members]
The microphone port should only be used for connecting an unpowered microphone, as a general rule. The microphone port is not meant for recording vinyl records from an HiFi amplifier if that is what you are doing - that will make the recordings distorted. Re: Audacity crashes every time a new UI is called
So do you mean opening any dialogue that opens or saves files? Does File > New crash? Can you try resetting Audacity Preferences. The easiest way to do this is to reinstall 2.0.3, ensuring that "Reset Preferences" is checked. Please see here for explanation http://manual.audacityteam.org/o...

If the problem is that it records too quietly, put the output slider on maximum too.frisbee wrote:input slider is on max.

3. Right-click specifically over the input device you want to record with (for example, line-in or "Stereo Mix"), and if visible, choose "Enable" 4. Right-click once again over the input device you want to record with, and choose "Set as Default Device" "set as de...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
I don't think that we can include the Play feature in a "release" version of this plug-in until the "Play on Linux" bug has been fixed because it can cause normal playback in Audacity to fail. Speaking of the "Play" bug, I thought that it was logged on bugzilla, but I ...

Re: Multiple Export unable to export more than 1 of 30 files
It's less than 400mb - it was ripped from a MKV DVD @ 320Kbps and I was trying to split it into 30 separate 320Kbps files. Right, but 400 MB is large for an MP3 so that means the file is long. The rule if you don't change the Audacity Quality Preferences is that each minute of stereo audio imported...

Re: Windows 7 - Audacity 2.0.3 Not recording stream audio
I recall turning off the 'internal' microphone in bios a long while ago as a fool-proof (?) way of ensuring no interference with recording via the usb device. Assuming it genuinely silences the microphone device, the best way on Windows Vista and later would probably be to right-click over the spea...
