Re: Can I adjust audio balance?
I thought the gain slider would affect the overall volume of the record. Since there was a 5.5 db difference in the original, and not understanding the finer points of gain control, I set the gain at -5.5, re-recorded a new track (only 5 mins long so no big deal), ran the normalization, but the wav...

If you are using Export Multiple with labels, please click File > Export Labels... and attach the exported label file. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 . If you are exporting one track at a time, make sure you don't use File > Expo...

Re: Need help with recording
They are a commercial company and won't respect out copyright and trademark correctly (they should call us Audacity(R) and link to us). You can find some free video and audio tutorials here http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Category:Tutorial#Off-site_Tutorials_on_the_web (not made by us). Do you thi...

Re: A small problem(I think)
You still have not said what version of Windows, Mac (or Linux). We may need to know if you need step-by-step instructions to do something. Perhaps you should change the USB cable, and make sure you are connecting into a spare USB port and not a hub that has other USB device connected to it. Perhaps...

Re: Can I adjust audio balance?
You might be able to change the left-right input balance in Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup. Should I check the 'normalize stereo channels independently? I'll try this tomorrow. The other two check boxes come checked by default. Yes you will need to check the box to normalize independently, ...

Re: Export with Custom FFmpeg Export produces zero length fi
There is a bug open for this, including the failure to notify or prevent a zero length file: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59 so make a patch if you want. However I can export a valid file using your steps (30 seconds mono or stereo tone) and FFmpeg 0.6.2. Is that the version you ...

Re: Tempo change problem
I'm trying to apply a tempo change to one track, and a different tempo change to another track, but each time I select a track and change the tempo, the tempo change applies to both tracks instead of just the selected one. Is there something obvious that I'm just doing wrong? Did you turn Tracks > ...

Re: A small problem(I think)
I've just replied to you on [email protected] since you wrote there, but let's discuss it here. Posting my reply so others know what I said, if you are connecting the turntable through a phono or HiFi amplifier to the microphone port of the computer (pink) then you could very likely see the problem you have...

Re: New User Finds Edit Commands Greyed Out
Hi! I'm trying to get started with Audacity 2.0.3 on Mac OSX 10.6.8. No matter how I select the first 13 minutes which I want to delete from a recording (Select->Left at Playback Position or clicking on the soundtrack image and sliding the cursor to the left), Cut is greyed out in the Remove Audio ...
