Re: Audacity crashes when importing raw data

It doesn't crash for me either (Windows 7 x64) using the settings Audacity offers:

  • Signed 8-bit PCM
  • No endianness
  • Stereo
  • 0 offset
  • 100% import
  • 44100 Hz
Does it crash on import, or when you play it?

Re: A small problem(I think)

First I can inform you that I work on Windows 7. In that case please upgrade to Audacity 2.0.3 whether you solve the problem first or not. Development of 1.2.6 ceased before Windows 7 was released, so 1.2.6 was not designed with Windows 7 in mind. 1.2.6 could crash then you will have to piece the r...

Also see the Change Tempo documentation in the Manual for an explanation of the limitations of Change Tempo:

Similar limitations apply to Change Pitch:

Seems to work fine (note however that the sample rate is 41,800 not 48,000)
Sorry I am not seeing where the "41,800" occurs. Your input "a.wav" and output "mp2.wav" both seem to be 44100 Hz.

Re: Export with Custom FFmpeg Export produces zero length fi

I don't know why our results are different Ed , the only difference seems to be that I have FFmpeg installed in the standard location. Do I take it normal export to AAC in Audacity is OK? If you have a file called "a.wav" in D:AudacityFFmpeg for Audacity then open a command prompt there an...

Re: Can I adjust audio balance?

Gale: I tried the middle of your three bulleted suggestions. The preset values were 10.9R and 10.7L. For future reference, should not these values be equal? I wrote -10.9 in for the left channel value, but when played in my HE system, the left still was louder. No the values will only be equal if t...

Steve means browser add-ons for Firefox. You have to perform the download in Firefox.

Or click this link:

You could always buy the CD, could you not?

Re: Dalek speaking!

What type of radio - web radio recorded using Soundflower, or a physical radio using the Mac line input? What sample rate did you record it at? Did you change your device settings in Apple Audio MIDI Setup? Can you export about five seconds of the recording as a WAV and attach it? Please see here fo...

Re: What is wrong?

Do you mean the green/blue "busy" mouse pointer that Windows displays http://www.istartedsomething.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/win7_cursor.gif ? If you read the Release Notes http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Release_Notes_2.0.3#Bugs_requiring_more_investigation you will find: (Windows)...

Re: Sound / Silence Marker

I recall you wanted the Help button to go to the online released Manual if there was no installed Manual, but I thought user should have the opportunity to actually download the Manual, as they do in the same scenario when they press Help > Manual in the menu. I though it better that: 1) If the use...
