Re: Audacity crashes when importing raw data
If you did not check "Reset Preferences" when you reinstalled, please try that. Install to "Program Files (x86)". If that does not help, right-click over audacity.exe, choose "Properties" then the "Compatibility" tab. Try changing the compatibility settings. T...

Re: Audacity 2.0.03
I've got a new problem with both of my computers (intel I3, windows 7 pro x64,6gigs ram). Are these branded computers like Dell or HP or did you build them yourself? I updated my audio drivers a couple of weeks ago and everything was working fine with 2.0.0 version. How did you update them? Who is ...

Re: Karaoke, Rotation, Panning & more
Actually I was tickling Steve rather that you Robert, vis-a-vis the need for a Really Simple Silence Finder. But Vocal Remover if anything has a greater number of challenged users than Silence Finder. I know, you want if ever possible avoid words like "Threshold", "Bias" and so ...

Re: Whilst recording shows input, but on playback flatlines
It sounds like Audacity cannot write to the specified temporary directory. I suggest you open Edit > Preferences, choose "Directories" on the left, then on the right, press Choose... to select a directory where you have permission to write. Click "OK" and "OK" then rest...

Re: A small problem(I think)
as you can see it's still recorded to high even if I try to put the microphone on ½, What happens if you set it to about 1/10th ? Maybe it's a stupid question, but where do I do that? On the same "microphone" input slider in Audacity Mixer Toolbar where I presume you were setting it to 1/...

Re: Mix and Render problems
I trimmed the project to the part that has the distortion issue. This did not affect the distortion. Then I saw the menu option "Save compressed copy of project..." and tried that. This project turns out to NOT have the distortion issue  I tried the project on Windows and Mac - the...

Re: Temporary Folder
We cannot see your machine to answer your question but the fact that you could not write to the original location is probably a Mac bug. Glad you got it fixed. Yes it's a bug that Audacity crashes rather than letting you change Preferences in the app, but (perversely) it usually only affects Linux u...
