Re: Record with BackTrack

Hello, Yes i have this BackTrack (5 r3 KDE). I try but it does not work :/ Did you also try rebooting? If you launch Audacity from the terminal are there any warnings or errors when recording stalls? Have you tried pressing R on the keyboard instead of using the Record button? If you use pulse and ...

Re: Error Writing Autosave File

Hello! I use a Microsoft Windows XP, Audacity 2.0.3, and obtained the .exe installer. When I run Audacity and press record, a pop-up opens saying Error Writing Autosave File. I have gone into my Audacity folder and found out that my Autosave file is corrupted and unreadable. How exactly did you fin...

Re: Can't record "what I Hear"?

Thanks for the screenshots. As previously suggested, I think you will need to enable the "Speakers" playback device (right-click over it) then make it default (right-click over it a second time). Then songs you play in the browser will play through the speakers and be recordable by stereo ...

Re: Record with BackTrack

Do you mean this version of Linux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BackTrack ? Try clicking the Transport Menu and turn off Software Playthrough (Passage audio logiciel). Also turn off Sound Activated Recording (Enregistrement automatique) in the same menu. Try choosing the (hw) input device instead of ...

Re: Preferences Device "Realtec" does not appear

By the way, you mentioned "Sigmatel" before, so that is probably the name of your built-in device.

Re: Preferences Device "Realtec" does not appear

Realtek may be the name of the built-in audio device on the motherboard. It may be called something else. You will need to choose that built-in device to play anything you record from the cassettes. The USB cassette player will not show in Explorer because it is not a file storage device. It should ...

Re: My recording is really bad due to microphone being too h

1) Make sure that the blue waves do not completely fill the space and 2) the sound meters do not go all the way up (hopefully that means that the horizontal bar should not fill the entire area). The blue waves and the meter bars show the same general principle. If the peak of the waves exceeds +/-1...

Re: Stuttering or gaps in my recording

If it happens again, you'll need to run one of those latency checkers and/or look at the sound device drivers http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Manag ... erformance .

Re: Can't record "what I Hear"?

I don't have your system, but I still don't see how you can record audio playing on the computer unless you are prepared to enable an analogue playback output in Windows. Stereo Mix cannot usually record from playback on the digital output - it needs to record from playback on the analogue output. T...

Envelope Tool http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/envelope_tool.html .

Or if you want to do it using the keyboard, install Text Envelope which is a Nyquist plug-in. See here for installation instructions http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Downl ... g_Plug-ins .
