Re: Mix and Render problems

One thing I don't quite understand. If you use the Track Drop-Down Menu to change the sample format of that track to 16-bit then play the project, the noise goes away (whether real-time dither is on or not). When changing the bit format from the drop down menu, the "High Quality" conversi...

Re: Why Preference Sampling Rate not talking to Project Rate

If you change Quality Preferences to 22050 Hz then CTRL + W to clear to a fresh project, the project rate should be 22050 Hz. If it isn't then try reinstalling Audacity with "Reset Preferences" checked in the installer thus http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/faq_installation_and_plug_ins...

Re: Audio is making a weird noise after I export it.

All my projects have two sources: WAV instrumentals from my MPC, and A Cappellas. Can you say what "MPC" is? Is it a WAV file bounced from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Production_Center, or something else? What is the source of the A Cappella? I exported from my other computer and a...

Re: meta data changing language

Thanks, webfoot. The "test file 1" is ANSI encoded so doesn't have the problem (there are no spaces between the English characters when read in ANSI or UTF-8 encoding). The problem files seem to be UTF-16 encoded. I've asked a developer who has been doing some work on metadata for us if he...

Turn off as many other programs and services as possible before recording.

Make sure Transport > Sound Activated Recording (on/off) is off (unchecked).

And be prepared to reboot before an important recording.

Re: Editing one track of music out of a recording

You have zoomed in way too far. SHIFT + A tends to stop a fraction past where the audio stream would really stop (easily seen if you press Pause then SHIFT + A). So you won't be able to see the cursor if you are zoomed in too far - it will be off to right of the screen. Selection Start in Selection...

Re: Audio is making a weird noise after I export it.

EVERYTIME I Export, or Mix and Render tracks, I get this really harsh annoying BZZZZZ sound at the beginning of my projects. Exporting into WAV. MacBookPro 10.8.4, running with Audacity 2.0.3. Does this topic help? http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=72327 If so, please tell us w...

Re: Editing one track of music out of a recording

In your image, the cursor is at time zero. This is indicated by the zero values in Selection Toolbar and by the cursor in the Timeline above the waves at 0.0 (note the vertical bar and the arrow pointing towards it).

Re: Newbie this should be simple - but maybe I am :)

Another tip - in the image that you show, the selection is only in the Timeline because the track is not selected, but the track does have the yellow focus border. When a track has the yellow focus border but is not selected, you can hit ENTER on your keyboard to select the track and thus move the e...
