Re: Audacity quits when trying to import mp3 files
I may have a couple of songs titles with an umlaut in the artist name (Queensryche or Motley Crue) but I thought I cleaned all of those up. I am transferring files from my Mac onto an SD chip for our car stereo. The SD format is FAT 32 for Windows-based software in our VW. I noticed when an AC/DC t...

Re: "SAVE PROJECT " not responding??
I did "Save project as." But then as I go along and make edits, periodically have tried to save again (especially since I have had Audacity crash on me before). "Save Project" is not responding--is grayed out. Seems it gave me the option once to "Save Project" after it...

Re: Recovering a chrashed file from AU202
I have an issue with some noisy neighbors, I recorded them all night and then left my house. When I came back to stop the recording it had been going on for about 12 hours, I tried to stop the recording but it crashed. Now, when I try to re-start audacity and recover the files trough the "reco...

Re: Recovering a chrashed file from AU202
Could "about 12 hours" be 13 hours? Audacity will not continuously record over 13 hours. The issue is dependent on the sample rate. At the default 44100 Hz rate, you can record more than 13.5 hours and export the recording as audio files providing you leave the project window open. You ca...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
I opened the Audacity file from the split in Audacity as an aiff file, Then I saved a copy of the file as aiff. No help. You kindly offered to test AIFF's with no metadata. Are these tests with no metadata? If so, what does "no help" mean? Were the files out of order in iTunes? Did the fi...

Re: Audio is making a weird noise after I export it.
Hi, Are you writing on behalf of krissserz? It isn't easy to see the pattern here. Are the tests for distortion on exactly the same project? They need to be if any comparisons are to be drawn. Can you please try 2.0.3 on the 10.8.4 machine http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/audacity-macosx-ub-2.0....

Re: Audacity quits when trying to import mp3 files
This morning I found a copy of 1.3.9 to download. Running as smoothly as you could want. I have coded 50+ songs with no issues. Thanks, squast. It's really unfortunate if you have to use that old version. Do the names of your imported files have non-English characters, or do the names of the folder...

Re: Sound dead since I have install Audacity 2.0.0 Unicode
On Windows the "Default Device" in Audio Device Info is the device set as default in Windows. if the Default Device in Audio Device Info is -1, there are no enabled devices in Windows. On Linux, "Default Device" in Audio Device Info means explicitly the device called "defaul...

Re: iPod classic aiff format metadata - recipe for problems?
Please do test that and report it here http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 80#p218680 .audio_pete wrote:I am suspecting now that no metadata exports of aiff files will NOT work.
Will test that next.
Thanks for your help.

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Thanks for testing. cassette tape to mac os x 10.5.9 nearly always record side 2 first so have to cut and paste to get sides in order normalize to max minus 1 down click (12.0 to 11.7) use point labels multi export with point labels export aiff 16 bit 44100 Did you add metadata to these files? If so...
