Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
I began with a personal project to transfer 3 cassette tapes to my iPod. I completed part of that task yesterday when I moved Tommy by the Who to my iPod. Are you really sure it's worth the effort - you do realize that you can buy the CD of Tommy quite cheaply these days (Amazon US $8.49, Amazon UK...

Aubio should work if you installed it as a VAMP plug-in though it may not necessarily give a better result than Silence or Sound Finder.michele wrote:I found a plugin (http://aubio.piem.org/)... but I can't make it work.

Re: broken up audio during overdubbing
Thanks. I assumed that was part of it. Even though it is an older PC, I do have an updated motherboard and 3 GB of memory. Any specifics or performance options I can check on my pc? I suggest you need at least a 1 GHz processor. Make sure Presonus has the correct drivers for Windows XP. If you have...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
I generated a 4 minute chirp tone in Audacity then created eight 30-second tracks from it and exported multiple to AIFF. I named the files in the labels 01 a 02 b 03 c 04 d 05 e 06 f 07 g 08 h I did not add metadata, but there is no way at present to export multiple without Audacity adding Track Tit...

Re: Support for ARMA2 .wss files?
Just seems to have WSS0 as a header. Here is a small sample file. http://mytriops.com/files/fracture_1.wss Thanks, the file clearly has headers, but libsndfile (the library Audacity uses for uncompressed import) cannot understand the headers. I verified that sndfile-convert in libsndfile standalone...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
You can think what you want I KNOW Audacity does NOT write out a proper aiff file. We do not know that yet. I think by "proper" you are talking about an AIFF file that an iPod is capable of playing. It's quite clear that different iPods behave differently on battery or not, with different...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Is the "iTunes-specific metadata" in one of the standard chunks, or is it an additional chunk outside of the AIFF specification? In particular, where are these "NORM" and "PGAP" values? The "NORM" is called iTunNORM and like iTunPGAP, it's an ID3 COM comment ...
