Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

Importing into your iTunes library should be as simple as dragging the files in. iTunes may reserve the term "importing" for CD extraction, but if you cannot drag an AIFF file in to iTunes I would call it broken. In iTunes, press iTunes > Preferences... and go through Preferences looking f...

Re: How do I put .aup file back so audacity can read it

Mac OSx 10.8.4 Audacity-.dmgm Installer Audacity 2.0.3 Hi, I am a newbie here. I would really appreciate your help. I created and edited a sound file .aup and saved it onto my desktop unaware that this created a problem with the audacity file structure. How can I get my sound file readable in Audac...

Re: hyperlinking labels

I want the chosen text, once clicked, to open the corresponding audio label with my audio player (I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema (1.6.2.4742)). Say the audio file of this part of the French book is 1h long. The blue part starts at 05.45 and ends at 6.53. So using Audacity I create a label w...

Re: volume uniformity

You can import a bunch of files and Normalize them http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/normalize.html but this only makes the loudest part of each file at the level you choose. The processed files may not "sound" equally loud. To make all files "sound" equally loud you want to n...

Effect > Compressor http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/compressor.html (though Effect > Amplify on all the individual quiet parts should work too).

Re: Unable to hear sound from my laptop

You can set the Audacity playback device in Device Toolbar to Behringer USB CODEC but you will then need to listen by attaching headphones to the Behringer. It is probably more convenient to set the Audacity playback device to the computer sound device or to separate USB loudspeakers that connect to...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes

I am not sure iTunes is Apple's proudest moment either. They added Album Artist to Artist in their database. To gather up all the individual songs and artists Multi edit songs Set Album Artist to something. That should bring all the songs into one album. Yes that works for me, thanks. Not very disc...
