Re: Audacity Crashes When Trying to Export
Also, as an update, I added that line of code to Audacity and now it let's me export things to the 'My Documents' folder but if I try to switch to any other location that isn't a folder within 'My Documents', it crashes. I normally save my things in the 'My Music' folder so it would be nice if I co...

Re: Audacity does not launch on 10.8.4
That didn't change the damaged-and-trash-it message. Is Apple Security (Preferences, Mountain Lion) discriminating against LAME? LAME is only for exporting MP3 files. You could open FInder, Go > Utilities > Disk Utility > then run "Verify Disk" and "Repair Permissions". I think ...

Re: Previous tracks bleed into the new one (Samson G-Track)
Generally it's best to record at the same rate as the device to prevent un-necessary resampling (assuming as Steve says that the computer can keep up with the rate). OK, but then, why when I record at 48K (the Gtrack's rate) and then listen through its output, I get a choppy track, but when I recor...

Re: Cannot reveal "Stereo Mix" or "Line In"
Gale, I'm so sorry (or stupit!).. "Select the "Windows WASAPI" host in the first box of Device Toolbar". Where? The leftmost box called "Audio Host" in Device Toolbar . Yes you can record poor quality computer playback from the built-in mic, but who wants to do that? G...

Re: New Mic not being recognised
The Blue Icicle does not appear to have a headphones output so you will only be able to monitor yourself using software playthrough in Audacity and you will therefore hear yourself late. If you don't record your singing over a music track and don't want to hear yourself in headphones while recording...

Re: Stops saving to desktop after awhile
I do export with the same filename as the previous file I worked on sometimes. While it is intended that you can do that (which makes the failure a bug), it's not recommended. Traditional file systems lock a file while it's open and being used and for good reason. This particular bug doesn't occur ...

Re: New Mic not being recognised
If I were to get an XLR to USB Shure X2U, I can connect this one to a free USB port on my computer. Meaning that the Shure X2U has phantom power integrated? Yes X2u provides the required phantom power - see http://www.shure.com/americas/products/accessories/microphones/microphone-problem-solvers/x2...

Re: audio levels w/headphones recording skype
I have said what I would do - record with Audacity using Soundflower as the input, or pay for a Skype recording application. If your Audacity recording input is a mic, you cannot reliably record the other party to the call (because the only input is the mic - you). Koz means that when you use the in...

Re: Problem with noise at beginning of Export using Envelope
I am having a similar issue to this, and your response regarding Time Shift is relevant to me. I am using Audacity 2.0.3 on a MacBook Air running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 and am importing tracks from my iTunes library, adding voiceovers and fading into other tracks, so I am importing 3 or 4 different m...

Re: Slight distortion when mixing 2 tracks?!
I assume T-Bone are headphones but if so I don't see what that has to do with it. We're not disputing you hear distortion on combined tracks. I for one question plugging an amplifier into a mic port which is what you said. It could create problems that are only audible when combining the tracks. Doe...
