Re: Recording Level - keeps adjusting downward automatically
Please read the pink notice at the top of this page. 1.3 Beta is no longer supported. Please update to 2.0.3 from here http://audacityteam.org/download/windows . It has a fix that may help your issue. Uninstall 1.3.14 first then be sure to put a check (tick) in "Reset Preferences" half way...

Re: Recording online sources using external soundcard
I still would like to know how one sets a browser to output to S/PDIF. Browsers almost never have options to choose their output device but you can go to Windows Sound (Playback tab) to make the Tascam S/PDIF the default output then Internet Explorer (if that is what you mean) will play to that out...

Re: Other freeware for Magical 8-bit plugin to work.
The usual solution is to use a small free standalone VSTi host rather than find an audio editor that includes VSTi support for free. For example: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm http://www.tobybear.de/p_minihost.html . These are old now so I don't know how well they work on Windows 7 ...

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
Both these files play ok on my "iPod Classic 160GB" serial no. 8K7491P2YMU Thanks for testing. I'm thinking you may have to be a little clearer in your terminology - this is my later iPod - the earlier one I had (also with touchwheel ) was just designated "iPod 30GB" purchased 2...

Re: sound card

Re: I can’t hear the sound while transferring from cassettes
It sounds as if you are recording from the wrong input. Connect to the blue line-in of the computer then choose line-in as the input device in Audacity Device Toolbar . Then turn on Transport > Software Playthrough (on/off) in Audacity. Make sure that item has a tick (check) then you can hear while ...

Re: joining WAV files & joining Audacity projects
You cannot join Audacity projects together. I would do it by dragging the files into the same project window, View > Fit Vertically then View > Zoom Out. Then press F5 on your keyboard which turns on Time Shift Tool. Now you can click and drag the second track rightwards so that its start lines up w...

I am jumping on this thread It's better to start a new thread even if searching found a partially relevant thread. I've started a new topic for you. You are almost certainly not on the same distribution as the original poster, nor are you asking the same question. I have been attempting to convert ...
