Re: Disable Metadata
Fine words but essentially meaningless without some meat on the bones as to how to do 2) and 3). I think you added a link to a small amount of meat http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=220500#p220500 after I started my reply. If I missed it in the original reply, sorry about that, though m...

Re: Playback of mp3s problem
Not a latency or a delay issue. Try setting Project Rate bottom left to 44100 Hz. Edit > Preferences and choose "Recording" on the left. Make sure "Audio to buffer" is set to the default 100 ms. Right-click over the speaker icon by the system clock, then choose "Playback De...

Re: joining WAV files & joining Audacity projects
The two files (for example) are now in one Audacity project as two sequential tracks and play seem-lessly. If I wanted them merged into one track, could I do that? If you have the two files above each other in separate Audacity tracks, you can then (if you still have Time Shift Tool enabled) drag t...

Re: Export Multiple: Hide Metadata Editor after first file.
I propose that when Export Multiple is automatically launched by Export Multiple (which it is by default), there is an additional option in the Metadata Editor. Hide Metadata Editor for the next X files: [_] where "X" is the number of files remaining in the current Export Multiple operati...

Re: importing existing audio files into Audacity
Why would we build an audio editor if it wasn't possible? Does this help http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/im ... audio.html ?

Re: Audacity can't use any audio devices
I have tried everything in the manual and some googles (otherwise I wouldn't be posting :-P ). Rescan does nothing as the devices are in the list and selectable, they just hang Audacity and then error when attempted to use. I tried both hosts, DirectSound crashed Audacity so I switched back to MME....

Re: AIFF files will not play on iPod, will on iTunes
For the AIFF files I would note that the ones that would not play were files recorded earlier and not on Audacity which were normalized and then exported. As they were single songs I'm not sure how one would use the multiple files export. But probably the solution is in this function. Perhaps there...

Re: Changing tempo on multiple files at once
Yes you can do this as a batch process using a Chain ( http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/edit_chains.html ).
Or import the files into the one window (you can drag them in) then CTRL + A to select them all then run Effect > Change Tempo. Then File > Export Multiple.

Re: Playback of mp3s problem
If you have many Audacity tracks one on top of the other in the same window, that could be part of the problem. Otherwise please give more information about the device choices you have for the output device in Device Toolbar . You may also need a driver update for the sound device. Please see http:/...
