Re: Problem converting 24-bit FLAC to 16-bit FLAC
I happen to have a 2.0.4-alpha build that uses libsamplerate but there is no problem with import and export of a one minute tone at the bit depth / sample rates you mention most recently. I used libsndfile to import the FLAC which is default. If there is still a problem, please look at Help > Show L...

Re: Problem converting 24-bit FLAC to 16-bit FLAC
is there any way I can update to a newer version of audactiy under Mint 14 ? You can try Mint 15 which is the latest release from May 2013 http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php . If it had the latest Audacity version current at Mint release it would have Audacity 2.0.3. Assuming Mint had not change...

Re: Help I think I lost 25 recordings
I am running 2.0.3 on an intel macbook (several years old) When I opened up the program I did get a warning that I had recovery files, but I looked at my files and they looked fine so I ignored it Audacity should not show you the Automatic Recovery Dialogue unless it had crashed or been force quit ...

Re: Stereomix recording on Win7?
Sorry, but we can't see your computer and so it is hard to fix it for you if you have followed all the suggestions you have seen. Are you sure you have the correct drivers for the sound card made by the computer or motherboard manufacturer? If you have 64-bit Windows 7, are the sound card drivers 64...

Re: first wouldnt let me record, now wont even open
There are a few more things you can try but this kind of problem is usually some security program on the computer. Or you simply need to backup your files and personal data and reinstall Windows. Force quit Audacity in Task Manager. Show hidden files and folders thus http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/...

Re: Slight distortion when mixing 2 tracks?!
If there is a problem with corrupted audio in the drum track this could be similar to the unexplained distortion on mixing that some people have complained about on OS X. At Edit > Preferences: Quality, make sure Dither under High-quality conversion (the bottom combo box) is set to some choice other...

Re: Stereomix recording on Win7?
In Windows "Sound" you have to enable stereo mix by right-clicking over it. It can help also to make it default device (another right-click over stereo mix). Single-click selecting a device does not enable it or make it default. Having enabled stereo mix and made it default in Windows, res...

Re: Changing tempo on multiple files at once
What do you mean by compressing them? Do you want to save disk space or do you want them to play faster? The former can be achieved by resampling it to a lower sample rate. For the latter, you can also use the "Truncate Silence" effect, if the podcast has overlong pauses. I went with what...

Re: Audacity won't open, code 0x80070005
I tried doing those, but when I downloaded the .zip and ran it, it gives me this message. "The program can't start because the wxbase28u_vc_custom.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." But when I went to the folder, the .dll was there. So I ...
