Re: 2.0.3 - 10.8.4 MS ADPCM Conversion causing major distort

Twisted wave switched to something else for the encoding, like i said earlier, i believe SoX Audacity 2.0.3 changed to libsoxr for sample rate conversions - if that's relevant here. If you only imported one file into a fresh, empty project there should not be any sample rate conversions because Aud...

Re: Help I think I lost 25 recordings

I was hoping that by doing several "save project"s as I go along that I would be able to go back to the last backup and go from there if this happened again. I always thought that by saving before (and not after) exporting the files I could always go back if I wanted to further refine the...

No, here's an export from the desktop version. TwistedWave https://www.dropbox.com/s/1c18yrtxrqaenjz/intro_for_loopcompressedtwisted.wav Audacity https://www.dropbox.com/s/taxgutr2ypp6du5/intro_for_loopcompressedaudacity.wav I'm not talking about overall sound quality, i'm talking about bursts of d...

Re: Audacity quits abnormally when S/PDIF stops while record

Rescan doesn't crash on my Windows machines, or Mac Mini, or Ubuntu 13.04. Have you tried running Audacity on Linux with Jack, then shutting down Jack, then rescanning? No. Do I assume that crashes for you? I don't have JACK in Ubuntu 13.04. In Ubuntu 12.04 I somehow acquired JACK without installin...

Thanks. I'll lock this topic now.

I hope that for either 2.0.4 or 2.0.5 we'll be able to improve the experience so that at least you can launch Audacity with Waves present.

Re: Stereomix recording on Win7?

When you have stereo mix enabled and default in Windows "Sound", does Windows Sound Recorder record computer playback?

Re: monitoring multi tracks

See here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Multichannel_Recording#Suggested_devices for devices that might record simultaneous multiple channels into Audacity as shipped on Windows, with the correct drivers. To make multi-channel recording devices work more generally in Audacity on Windows, you ha...

Re: How to mix 8 wav mono

I've ever tried to export on OGG but I don't think so it's compatible with mkv's containers. Could it be an issue with the audio or video software you are using to write the Matroska container? According to http://www.matroska.org/technical/guides/faq/index.html Matroska "can support all known...

Thanks for the reports.

Waves 9 Audio Units or other Waves versions aren't compatible with Audacity at the moment, as described in the 2.0.3 Release Notes: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Relea ... ram_Launch .

Re: Audacity quits abnormally when S/PDIF stops while record

To rescan audio devices, ensure that playback is stopped (not just paused) and select "Rescan Audio Devices" from the Transport menu. Save the Audacity project before you do this . Rescanning may not always be 100% stable because it may cause the computer sound system to reconfigure itsel...
