The file names are chosen randomly. … How for example are you changing the file names of the AU files in the newly recorded AUP file (the one to be used for recovery) to the names of the AU files in your original data? The “random” file names are the same every time a new project is recorded Sorry,...

Re: Impossible to copy/paste text
I just made a copy of the text of a song in Pages and pasted it in the text window of Audacity. Impossible to paste. Am I clear ? Sorry, no. Audacity does not have a "text window". If you don't mean the dialogue where you open or save, do you mean labels? http://manual.audacityteam.org/m/...

Re: Recording 2 mono channels
Splitting is not an extraction or filter. There is no loss. Gale Thanks, but when mentioning "surprise", I was actually wondering about technical quality. I did some recording with one stereo track - at first hearing, it sounds pretty good. How is your experience with splitting guys - stra...

Re: Recording 2 mono channels
Audacity doesn't require arming tracks, so Record always creates a new track. A new stereo recording is left and right channel of a stereo pair, not two mono tracks. Audacity does have Append Record into the end of the selected tracks (SHIFT + R or SHIFT-click the Record button). So try creating you...

Re: Leveler effect missing
I upgraded to the version of Audacity that comes with Fedora 25: 2.1.3-alpha-Nov 9 2016 Note that generally, alpha releases are unstable. Expect the possibility of bugs if you use them, unless they are dated just before or immediately following an official Audacity release. Nov 9 2016 is quite clos...

Re: Impossible to copy/paste text
Something else : It works with Audacity 2.0.5 on Sierra, as it worked with this version of Audacity on my old OS X Leopard. So I guess there's a bug on Audacity 2.1.2 on Sierra. Please tell us where you are trying to copy/paste. Guessing that you refer to file open/save dialogues, yes it is a bug i...

Re: Input volume slider says "Unavailable; use system mixer.
If you want to record from the internet, S/PDIF has no relevance unless you are running an optical output cable from S/PDIF out to S/PDIF in. Is that what you are doing? Where is the internet playing? In Speakers (Sound Blaster Audio Fx)? If so, with WASAPI host, Speakers (Sound Blaster Audio Fx) sh...

Re: Audacity Recording Sounds on PC?
I have made it so that my Mic only detects me talking when it goes over the little line i have set, but i have found out that when not talking to audio pauses like the line doesnt move? Are you talking about Audacity's Sound Activated Recording? That does not pad with silence when the input goes be...
